Hi I'm Meghan

I'm a sophomore in college, and am on my way to becoming an accountant. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a student in college and LOVE doing things outside. I'm big into National Parks and want to travel to all of them before I die. Of all the National Parks I've been to I've loved Zion and the Tetons. I'm hoping to make it over to Yosemite soon. When I was in high school I was really active in sports and played soccer, basketball, and track for my school's teams. I'm still a big fan of athletics and have participated on intramural teams while in college. Beyond outdoor activities I love traveling and going to concerts. Seeing George Straight in concert and traveling to every continent are also things I'm planning on doing before I bite the dust.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love Jesus Christ. Christ is my Savior and Redeemer, and it is only through his mercy and sacrifice that I can be made clean. Although I do all that I can to follow Christ's example and live the commandments I am constantly falling short. Being a Mormon I am able to grow closer to Christ and become more aware of his love for me through reading the Book of Mormon and Bible, and listening to the words and counsel from our modern day profit Thomas S. Monson. For me the Book of Mormon, Bible, and our prophet, Thomas S. Monson, are all examples of how much Heavenly Father loves us. We are his children and he has given us these tools to help guide us through this life so we can live with him again.

How I live my faith

I live my faith daily by the decisions I make and the friends I choose to have around me. Living in the college environment there's a lot of pressure to participate in activities that go against my religion. It's a daily effort to live my faith and follow the path that Christ has laid for us. As a Mormon I believe my body is a gift from God and should by treated with care and respect. In order to care for my body and keep it healthy I don't drink, smoke, abuse caffeine, or participate in any form of substance abuse. And in order to show my body the respect it deserves and create the strongest possible bond with my future spouse, I don't participate in sex outside of marriage.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Meghan
The Atonement of Jesus Christ is what allows our Savior to comfort us in times when no else can fully understand what we're going through. The atonement of Christ happened in the Garden of Gethsemane, and it is there that he felt the weight of all the worlds sins. However, he did not only take upon him the sins of the world, but all the pain, sickness, grief and sorrow that's in the world. Anything that anyone has experienced or will experience that has ever caused them to be unhappy was felt by our Savior in the Garden of Gethsemane. Because of this you can always turn to Christ for comfort and solace, because he will always know what you're going through. He has felt the pain and anguish; he has experienced the hurt and sorrow.
