Hi I'm Taylor Fish

I grew up in Arizona, I will soon be a full time missionary, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I just graduated high school and will soon be serving in the Texas, San Antonio mission, speaking Spanish. I enjoy playing music and I play both the saxophone and the piano. I also really like reading in my spare time. I have two dogs, a yellow lab and a chihuahua, and I'm slightly worried my parents might send them to a farm up north (if you know what I'm sayin) while I'm on my mission... Haha, just kidding.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm not a Mormon simply because of the Mormon culture I'm part of, or because my friends are doing it, or because my parents want me to. I'm a Mormon because I have a testimony of Jesus Christ, His Atonement, and His gospel. Although I've been a member my whole life, I truly began to be converted my freshman year of high school because of our church's seminary program (a religious class designed for high school students to better understand and rely on the teachings and atonement of Jesus Christ). Because of seminary I began to study the scriptures and pray more than I ever had previously in life. As I did these things as well as others to help increase my faith and answer the many questions I had I began to gradually notices changes that were happening within me. I began to feel happier than I ever had before. I increased in spiritual knowledge and understanding. I began to really feel the love that God has for me. I began to believe that God really does have a plan for me. Since then, I've been doing my best to keep increasing in faith and understanding, and continue coming unto Christ. In the end, why I'm a Mormon is because this religion helps me to live a happier, more Christ centered life than I could find through any other means. I've prayed to know if God is really there, if He really has a plan for me, if the Book of Mormon really is the word of God, and if this truly is His church upon the earth. I've received my answer, and I testify that these things are true. I testify that if you read and study the Book of Mormon and if you sincerely pray to our Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus Christ to know if these things are true, you too will know.

How I live my faith

I have recently been called as a full time missionary for our church, so that will be my calling for the next two years. I also live my faith by trying to be a good example to those around me, whether or not they're members. One of my favorite quotes is by Pres. Dieter F. Uchtdorf (one of our church's leaders) who said "Preach the gospel at all times and if necessary, use words." Although I often fall short, this is the goal I shoot for, that I might be able to demonstrate my faith, gratitude, and belief in Jesus Christ through my actions, and therefore truly live my faith.
