Hi I'm Janita

I'm a dancer, a fangirl, a full-time missionary and a mormon!

About Me

I am from the beautiful country of Finland (no, we don't actually have polar bears walking on the streets). I am a middle-child of three kids. I like to laugh, and I decide every morning that it's going to be an amazing day! I have always loved reading books, and I could spend hours and hours just reading. Some of my favourites are Harry Potters, Pride and Prejudice, Divergent and John Green books. I also enjoy some TV-shows like Doctor Who, Sherlock and Hart of Dixie. I love the fandom and it gets me enthusiastic (helloooo all Potterheads and Whovians!). I really enjoy dancing. I've done some kind of dancing most of my life, everything from jazz to street dance. I feel like through dancing I can express myself and exercise at the same time. Gotta love it. Basketball is pretty fun also. I love singing. Life would be so boring without music. I was performing in a musical called Our Turn On Earth (or a version of it) last summer, and that really helped me to break my comfort zones. Oh my poor flatmates, or anyone who lives around me - they can't miss me singing. I love seeing how the world works. I enjoy learning about biology and psychology. I tend to say that science is a man's attempt to explain God's ways. And I want to learn everything I can about God! So yeah. Me? I'm a fangirl, singer, dancer, Finnish, full of hunger for knowledge, middle-child, and oh, a mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon simply because this church here really is the restored church of Jesus Christ. It makes me happy to follow God and live my life faithfully. I love my Savior Jesus Christ and I have a close relationship to my father in Heaven. I could search my whole life but I would never find anything better - because the fact is that this church is true. The reason why I am so sure of it is the simple fact that I studied the Book of Mormon, went to church and prayed. And then I got answers from my loving Heavenly Father. Through the Spirit of God, the Holy Ghost, I have received a witness that all these things are true.

How I live my faith

I am a full-time missionary in England Leeds Mission. I began my journey here in the end of August 2014. I invite people to come closer to Christ, and testify them about Him and His church. As a missionary I try to serve others and bring the spirit of missionary work in the houses of the members. I also live my faith through keeping the commandments of God, studying the scriptures (like The Book Of Mormon and The Holy Bible), praying and attending to church every Sunday. I try to develop myself closer to what our Savior Jesus Christ is like. I try to think good, do good and just be good. I want to love everyone around me. I share my testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ whenever I can.

What do Mormons believe about the nature of God?

God is the Father of the spirits inside us. We are His children. He loves each and every one of us, individually. He knows what we go through. Like any father, he rejoices with us, when we make good decicions and is saddened when we don't. But He will never, ever stop loving us. He is all-knowing. He is perfect. He wants what is best for each and every one of us. His will is always the one thing that is the best thing we can choose. He just simply wants us to learn, grow and to be happy. He wants us to return to live with Him. He has given us agency, the ability to choose, and He is not going to take it away from us, even if don't follow His counsel. He is full of kindness, full of mercy and full of love. He has a body of flesh and bone, that, unlike ours, is perfected, glorified and immortal. He is perfect in every way. He rules the universe, and is the architect of our world. Show more Show less
