Hi I'm Mary Ellen

I'm a wife, a mother, an author, and a Mormon

About Me

I am a wife, a mother, and an author. After being a stay-at-home mom for literally decades, my youngest ( a nice tail-end baby) entered school. So, I began to write. I started writing for magazines and newsletters while I completed my first novel. Now my first book has been released and I am working on my second one.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it makes sense. It makes sense that God loves us and provides a way for all of us (if we choose) to return to live with him. It makes sense that we should try hard to do what's right, but also that there is a way to repent and obtain forgiveness for the times when we slip up. I am a Mormon because I have prayerfully considered the teachings in the Bible and The Book of Mormon, and I know them to be true because of the peace that enters my heart and permeates my being. I am a Mormon because I also know that Joseph Smith was an instrument in God's hands in restoring the fullness of the gospel back to the earth. I know God loves me and wants me to be happy. When I make righteous choices, I am happy and at peace. I want to share this same happiness and peace with others.

How I live my faith

Being Christian is who I am, not just what I do. So, it permeates every part of my life. When I write books, my characters do not use foul language and I do not spill intimate moments onto the page. That wouldn't be consistent with my beliefs. It's important to me that how I live reflects what I profess to believe. This example is especially important to my five children. My husband and I work hard to teach our children gospel truths and encourage them to learn for themselves what God would have them do and how He would have them live.
