Hi I'm Walter Peterson

I'm a runner, I'm a basketball player, I'm a missionary in England, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 19 years old, I love running and singing. I graduated from Salem Hills High School in 2015. I love my family and friends. I love playing all kinds of sports and I love to win. I love reading the scriptures and serving my community. I am currently serving in the England Leeds Mission. I am planning to go to Utah Valley University after my mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know this is the true Church of Jesus Christ. I've prayed about it a read the Book of Mormon and was told it is true and it is a wonderful thing. It helps me make good choices and have good morals and values. I love this church and this gospel it really is the Truth on the earth today and I want everyone to be able to partake of the joy and happiness that this gospel brings.

How I live my faith

I am a Full-Time Missionary for the Church as I live my faith by inviting others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel by faith in Jesus Christ, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost and enduring to the end.

What is the Book of Mormon?

Walter Peterson
It is the story of other faithful followers of Christ that lived in the Americas before, during, and after Christ's ministry in the Holy land. It is also their dealings with God as a family from Jerusalem was guided by God to the Americas where they lived and worshiped kind of like a family history report of what they did with God and their faith. What is the priesthood?

Walter Peterson
The priesthood is the authority to act in God's name on Earth. It is the same power that Christ used to heal the sick and blind and he did all his miracles by the priesthood. Show more Show less

What is the First Vision?

Walter Peterson
It is the story of Joseph Smith. A 14 year old boy in Palmyra, New York in 1820 he wanted to know what church was true so he read James 1:5 "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him." So Joseph went to a grove of trees behind his home and attempted to pray out loud for the first time. As he did a pillar of light brighter than the sun fell over him and he saw two personages "whose brightness and glory defy all description" wrote Joseph, and one pointed to the other saying this is my beloved son hear him. And Jesus told Joseph that all the churches were wrong and he had a work for him to do. Show more Show less

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Walter Peterson
The Atonement of Jesus Christ is the only way that we are able to live with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ again. Christ suffered for us in the Garden of Gethsemane and on the cross so that we would be able to repent or have a change of heart and decide to turn our lives back to God and Christ after we have made a mistake. I have felt the redeeming power of the atonement and know that it is real through my own personal experience, that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and He will always be there for us as we look to Him.
