Hi I'm Joel

I am serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints in the Utah Ogden Mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

At this time in my life, I preach The Gospel of Jesus Christ. My purpose is to help them make commitments and receive the ordinances of The Gospel of Jesus Christ in order to grow closer unto Christ, who is our savior who will help us return to the presence of our Heavenly Father. I have always loved running cross country. I just finished being a Boy Scout for many years; I'm a 5 palm Eagle Scout and I love the outdoors. Music is one of the biggest parts of my life; I'm a multi-musician, but the instruments that I focus on the most are the French Horn and bass vocals. I've spent many years playing French Horn in school and competing on the State level. I've also spent many years practicing singing and performing in my ward's choir. I also sang at the Atlanta Temple Re-dedication Cultural Celebration a few years ago. One of the things that's strengthened my testimony the most over the years is attending early morning seminary that's taught me the fully restored gospel of Jesus Christ, helped me to know and remember the scriptures so that I can teach by them, showed me how to use my priesthood, and instilled a love of God and all men in me and an understanding of God's plan through The Savior, Jesus Christ. I'm preparing right now to serve a mission in a few months to bring the blessings of the gospel to others and to show them the love of God by the power of The Holy Ghost. After that I plan to attend college where I plan to study Civil Engineering and French Horn Performance.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised a Mormon. I had great parents who taught me the gospel at a young at age and have helped me to continue to learn and grow, not only in the gospel, but as a person living and working in the world. I've seen the things they've taught me happen in life and I'm grateful for what they've done, and I know I wouldn't be doing well without their sacrifices for me. I live in an area where there are some other Mormons, but not many. I have a lot of friends who are Christians from other denominations who have questioned me about my faith before, but as I have studied the scriptures, prayed, and felt The Holy Ghost in it's full power, God has given the right words to speak and that have taught me even through doubt that when I have faith, that I can do all things through Christ and that I know the Gospel is true deep down even though doubt still always comes. As I've grown closer to my Savior, I've seen the prophesies in the Bible start to be fulfilled, and that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has the fulness of Christ's gospel for salvation. I've been raised in it, but I'm a Mormon because God has told me that it's right. I have seen many countless miracles before, which have become a daily part of my life because of faith in Christ. It's my duty to preach His gospel in His name because I have been blessed so much by it. It's also a commandment from a prophet of God for me to do it, and I have seen even greater blessing come to me, my family, and others, and I will continue to as I preach His gospel.

How I live my faith

I preach The Gospel of Jesus Christ to all that I meet, every day, and help them to come unto Christ by making commitments and receiving the ordinances of His gospel in order for them to become closer to Him and to return to the presence of our Father in Heaven. I am a set apart representative of Him and do my best to be an example of Him and to testify with power and authority that this is His gospel and the way to eternal life. I have done a lot of community service over the years and also have worked for a University as a clerk for the Georgia Governors Honors Program. I used to be an assistant to our ward leader who is in charge of the guys my age. I also used to be a home teacher, and visit some of the people from church to teach them the gospel and to see how they were doing. I also used to attend early morning seminary which helped me to gain a stronger testimony. I still read scriptures, continue to study the gospel, and attend my church meetings every Sunday.
