Hi I'm Rob Smith

I spent 22 years in the Army National Guard and Reserve. I love to spend time on Jeep trails with my family. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I love spending time with my wife and three children. I enlisted in the Army National Guard at 17 and retired after 22 years. We love to pistol, rifle, and archery shoot. We also love spending time in Moab with our two Jeeps. I also love to mountain bike and hike.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church, but didn't develop a testimony until after I was married and experienced a series of significant trials. I needed help and turned to the peace, comfort, and joy found in and through the Atonement and Love of Jesus Christ. I felt his love through the Holy Ghost. I began thinking of others instead of myself, which was key to the healing process and moved forward. I look for His hand in my life, especially nature. All things can tie back and through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I strive to live after the manner of happiness, despite the challenges and setbacks of life. The path of the Savior is not easy, but is definitely straight and true. I am grateful for His love and patience with me. I know he lives because I feel it is true and see His light in my wife and children. I am grateful for the Prophet Joseph Smith and the courage he had to seek which church to join and the courage to follow Jesus Christ despite unthinkable adversity. I am grateful for living prophets today and the words of Hope they bring to us. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I strive to be good and do good. I love working with the youth and serve them in my professional work and in my church calling. I seek opportunities to show kindness to others.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Rob Smith
The Atonement of Jesus Christ is central to the plan of happiness and the perfect example of eternal love. "Greater Love hath a man than this, that a man lay down his life for His friends." John 15:13. We are called friends by Jesus, because He has shown us all things that we must do by and through His example. If we come unto him and give him our full heart, we can be forgiven, healed, and exalted. Show more Show less
