Hi I'm Kaedon

I grew up in Utah. I've played basketball most of my life. I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

About Me

I enjoy playing basketball and being around my family. I do well in school and I like to learn as much as I can. I will be leaving to Mexico to serve a mission in July of 2014. When I return I intend to start college at Utah State University where I have a few academic scholarships. I don't know what I will study, but I'm hoping I'll have a better idea when the time comes.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been raised in the LDS church and it has been a tremendous blessing. However, I still had to choose for myself if this group and these people were something that I wanted to be a part of. I love the principle of free agency that our church embraces because it is so relevant to every person, member or not. I chose to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because I have seen the amazingly positive influence this Gospel has in the lives of those who live it. Many people have been examples to me, and I have seen their joy that comes from Gospel. I have experienced that joy for myself. Through interacting with members and personal study and prayer, the Holy Ghost has given me a special, personal witness that this is the true church of God. I know that our Heavenly Father lives, that his son, Jesus Christ, came to earth and atoned for the sins of the world. Through Him, anyone and everyone can receive forgiveness of their sins. I am not perfect, and Christ's atonement has worked miracles in my own life. I have seen it work miracles in the lives of others as well.

How I live my faith

I have served as my ward's Family History Specialist for a couple of years. I have helped many people start their own family history work, set up accounts with Family Search, and even taught a class during Sunday School for a couple of months. My purpose was to help others discover their ancestors so they could prepare their names for temple and baptismal ordinances. I have had many opportunities to serve within my church, and I have been blessed by all of them. As a soon to be missionary, my new calling will be to help others not of our faith to come to know Christ and find peace and happiness in this world and in the life to come.
