Hi I'm Joe

I love music. I'm an athlete. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi, I'm Joe. I am the second of five children and recently graduated from high school. Music is a huge part of my life. I play piano, guitar, trumpet, trombone, euphonium, saxophone, and various percussion. I also love to sing. My favorite artists are Paul McCartney, Bastille, Imagine Dragons, and The Aquabats. During my senior year in high school, I was the first chair/section leader of the trumpets in my school's jazz ensemble and concert band as well as a member of the percussion ensemble. I played competitive soccer on a premier level team for 9 years. I was the only active member of the LDS church on my soccer team. I ran varsity track at my high school for two years. I love the satisfying feeling I get after completing a run, no matter how short or long the distance. I love spending time with my family and friends. Besides music and sports, I enjoy video games and playing with my dogs. I love the Church and I am so glad to be a part of it. I am currently preparing to serve a full time mission in Colombia.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I want to be one. Although I was born and raised in the church, I have had my doubts about it being true. Through prayer and scripture study, I decided to follow the teachings that I have grown up with and know to be true. I have read the Book of Mormon and know that it is true. I know that Joseph Smith restored the true church to the earth. I believe that there is revelation given today and that it can be obtained by anyone who is diligently seeking the truth. Through my undeniable spiritual experiences, I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church on the earth and I don't know where I would be without it. That's why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I have always gone to church. I have served in various leadership positions in the youth organizations in my church. I have a mission call to Cali, Colombia and am excited to serve, representing The Lord for two years. Before I graduated, I actively participated in the Church's seminary program and am taking LDS institute of religion classes in college before I leave on my mission. I love the camaraderie of the relationships I have with fellow church members. It is like we are all on a team, reaching for a similar goal. I love to pray and ask questions. When my questions are answered my testimony is strengthened. I love sharing my testimony with others and can not wait to serve in the Church for many years to come.
