Hi I'm Haley

I'm a full time student, I love playing guitar and anything related to being outdoors and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am the second oldest in my family of six,and I have one wonderful dog named Presley. I also love to ride my Harley and spend time with friends. I also love sports, especially soccer and football ( go Detroit Lions) .I love curry, pepperoni pizza with black olives and french fries. I love serving others. I love spending time with my friends and family. I love bowling, I love the outdoors. I love to hike, go tubing, boating, swimming, running, and star gazing. I've grown to enjoy horseback riding and racquetball.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the source of my happiness. It helps me become closer to my Heavenly Father, and His Son, Jesus Christ. It also provides me with the opportunity to help and serve other people, which helps me grow as a person. Being a member of this church also provides amazing fellowship with some of the best life-long friends I could ever ask for. I know who I am, where I'm going, and why I'm here. I know that I'm not simply wandering around on this earth by chance, but that I have an eternal destination that I'm traveling to. It's in that traveling where I'm learning how to be a better person, where I'm learning from my mistakes, and am growing to achieve my fullest potential. I am a Mormon, because it's the true church of Jesus Christ, and living by it's teachings makes me the happiest that I could ever be.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing those things that keep me close to my Heavenly Father. I try to apply my scripture reading to my own life, which helps me in times of trial. I also pray to my Father in Heaven frequently, and I know he hears me. I try to include Him in everything that goes on in my life by letting him know of my fears, concerns, achievements, and the things I am grateful to Him for. I try to live by Christ's example as best as I can, and constantly try to improve. I also try to be a good example to those around me, and I try to be a friend to everyone. I attend church on Sundays,Young Women's on Mondays, and seminary during the week. All of those things make me happy, keep me close to my Father in Heaven, and help me grow in my life.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Haley
The testimony is something that you believe, it is borne of the Holy Ghost. A testimony is something that we believe in our mind. It is your personal opinions about the church. Once a month we have what is called a "Testimony Meeting" this is where other members come up and give their testimony about the church. This could include experiences that you have had and how it pertains to the gospel, or what you are just grateful for. By having this testimony meeting it allows you to see that you are not alone, and that the spirit works for everyone. My testimony is especially strong when i talk about the Holy Ghost because if the Holy Ghost hadn't given my parent a prompting to start going to church again a few years ago ( because they had become inactive) I don't know where i would be today, But I am so very grateful they followed that prompting.
