Hi I'm Nate Medsker

I'm full time missionary in the Virginia Chesapeake mission. I enjoy Italian food and if it's free, it's for me. I'm a Mormon!!!!!

About Me

I love music and sports!!! Like, holy toledo, that was my life and still is (besides Christ of course). I love to play the piano and the organ. A super favorite past time. I also love running! Weird, I know, but it's seriously my passion. I plan on running after my mission in college and I can't wait to hit the trails again! Just waking up, running on trails, feeling the cool air, and coming home to mom's pancakes... Oh yea. I also love Jesus Christ!!! The atonement is so amazing, and I always love Christ for it and always will love him for it.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always been a member of the Mormon religion, as have my parents. Although I have never experienced other religions, there is a time in everyone's life when one becomes truly converted. This happens when they no longer need to lean on the testimony of others, but now know with a certainty that the church they attend is true. This has happened in my life, and I have never been more sure of anything else in my life that this is the true church of Jesus Christ. I continue to be a member of this church because I know it is true. If it's true, and you know it's true, why would you deny it? I try to be as close as I can to the church because I know it is true, and I want to be as close to the truth as I can. God blesses those who are close to the church, which is just a bonus from the ultimate blessing he gives all people who believe in him. He gives everyone eternal life, the gift so that you may live forever. You cannot possibly fathom the amazingness and mercy portrayed in this gift, and we can never repay him for this wonderful gift that he has promised us. Another reason I follow the church is because I understand how much it helps me to be a better person. The principles and standards that are followed in this church help me live my life to my fullest capacity to help others, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

How I live my faith

Well, being a missionary of course! I have been so blessed to be a servant of the lord and I am continually blessed for it. I always thought if I served a mission I was paying the lord back, but in reality, he's just blessing me more! I love this gospel so much, and I love missionary work. It seems like everyday it gets better, and I am so thankful for the opportunity to be a missionary.

Why do Mormons perform baptisms for the dead?

Nate Medsker
Baptism is essential so that we may live with our Heavenly Father again up in heaven. Without baptism, we cannot be in His presence. Not everyone had a chance to baptized before they died, so we are baptized for them through proxy, which means a living person may be baptized for a non-living person. The deceased may accept the baptism, and if they do, they now also have the opportunity to live with God again. Show more Show less
