Hi I'm Cody

I grew up in Kaysville, Utah. I study biological engineering at Utah State University. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a college student studying Biological Engineering. I enjoy reading books about math and science, playing soccer, and spending time with my wife. We've been married for almost a year now. My wife and I enjoy taking walks together, eating ice cream together, and doing hikes and other outdoor activities together. My wife is studying speech language pathology at the same university as me. We hope one day to be able to travel and see other parts of the world in the future. My wife has been to various parts of Europe, and I lived in Ecuador for two years as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I really love the South American people and hope to return again soon to visit my friends there.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that the teachings of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, or the teachings that I have learned through the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, are true. I have been lifted and strengthened in several ways by the doctrines and principles that I have learned by the church. One of the most amazing teachings that I have learned is about the Plan of Salvation. The Plan of Salvation is a plan that God, our Heavenly Father, made for us to be able to return to His presence after this life. Knowing the Plan of Salvation as helped my in so many ways because I know why I am here in this life, where I came from before this life, and where I will be going after this life. I am sure that anyone would like to understand their purpose here in life and what comes after death, but it is extremely important to me because my mother died several years ago when I was a teenager. It was a very difficult time for me, but thanks to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and in particular my knowledge of the Plan of Salvation, I knew that I would and will be able to see her again. Being a Mormon gives me strength and purpose, and thanks to the many teachings that I have learned through study of the scriptures like the Book of Mormon and Bible, to the lessons I have had in church, I know that I will live again with my Father in Heaven, and I will be able to live forever with my family.

How I live my faith

I currently serve as the financial clerk for my local church organization. I file lots of reports about spending money and make sure that all the financial dealings of my ward have been fulfilled completely and honestly. I also visit various families of the ward with another local church member. We visit these families with the intent to strengthen them spiritually and temporally in any way possibly that we can. I very much enjoy visiting people in their homes and learning more about them and the experiences they have. Even though we are called 'home teachers', I often find myself being taught many important life lessons by the stories and experiences that these families share with my companion and I. I also enjoy to visit nonmembers with the local missionaries when my time permits me.
