Hi I'm Michael Lane

I was born into an US Air Force family, I am a musician, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am part of the High School class of 2014 and In High School I was an avid instrumental musician playing mainly brass instruments, including trumpet, trombone, and tuba. I am also an Eagle Scout and I love the outdoors.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church since I was born and I have always known this church is the true church of Jesus Christ. I know that Jesus Christ is my savior and my redeemer. I know that through him I can be cleansed from my sins and that I will be able to return to my Father in heaven and live with him again. I know that there is a living prophet here on the earth and that he does receive revelation pertinent to our time. I know that there is a plan of salvation available to everyone that lives and has lived, as long as the necessary steps to repentance are taken. I know that this church is the same church that Jesus Christ set up on the earth during his mortal ministry, and it has been restored again on the earth through Christ and Joseph Smith. I also know the Book of Mormon to be the word of God and another testament of Jesus Christ. I also believe the King James Version of the Bible to be the word of God as well.

How I live my faith

In the young men programs of the wards I've been in I have served as various counselors, secretaries, and president. In my high school I was a major leader in the school's band program. My senior year I was Brass Captain over all brass instrumentalists at the school.

Why do Mormons perform baptisms for the dead?

Michael Lane
When Jesus Christ was on the Earth he was baptized, setting an example for all those that wish to return to live with God to follow. However the baptism that is required must be performed in the proper manner of immersion and with the proper authority (priesthood) of God. Because of the importance of the ordinance, proper baptism must be available to all, but the proper authority to perform the baptism has not always been on the Earth. So, baptisms for the dead is the way for those that are deceased to have the opportunity to have this saving ordinance performed in their behalf. Show more Show less
