Hi I'm Whitney

I'm 19 years old, a Colorado girl, and have devoted 18 months of my life to serving the Lord. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 19 years old and a photographer. I love finding grace in this world, capturing it, making it pop, and letting everyone else discover the beauty that can hide so well. If I am not taking pictures, you can find me playing any kind of sport or having a good time with my 7 siblings. Having fun and doing something crazy is the sure way to a fantastic day. I am a firm believer that laughter is the best medicine. I always have a smile on my face, and try my best to make other people happy. I am serving an 18 month mission in the West Virginia Charleston Mission, and I absolutely LOVE it!

Why I am a Mormon

The Church is the one thing in my life that has always remained constant. I can always rely on the Church to be the same anywhere I go. To me that just shows how true the Church is. The spirit has confirmed to me that the Book of Mormon is a true book and was written by the prophets of the Lord. I know this to be true. Life isn't an easy thing to go through, there are so many trials we will go through. A couple years ago I was going through something very difficult and I didn't know where to turn to for help, so I got to my knees and prayed for strength and comfort in this hard time. Instantly I felt the love the Savior has for me and knew that no matter what that love would always be there as He would. I know I am never alone in this life. I am the happiest when I am living the gospel right. My best weeks are when I have been staying true to the Church and trying my best to live worthy. Being a Mormon is the best choice I have ever made and I will always make the choice to live this way. I love this church and I love my savior.

How I live my faith

I have just chosen to serve a mission for my church. I will be serving the Lord across the country, away from my family. I am willing to sacrifice my connections to them so I can help others to be with their families for eternity. Before I head off I am teaching little children lessons in the bible(yes we do read the bible as well). Before I was a leader to the youth helping to plan many activities for us to do, and of course teaching them in any way I possibly could. Being an example to those around me is the best way I can teach others. I lead by example, and hope that I can make a positive effect on others. I absolutely love serving everyone.

How can I find someone to talk with, in person, about the Mormon religion?

Go out and ask a member if you know one. They can lead you to the missionaries or someone who can help. A lot of them can answer your questions about the church as well. If you don't know a member just look for the missionaries in your area, they're the ones dressed up wearing name tags. We're probably the only people who ride bikes in nice clothes. You can always just come to our Church and find someone inside to help you out. Visitors are always welcome! Show more Show less
