Hi I'm Summer

I grew up in California. I moved away for a time; I'm back now to serve the Lord and share the gospel. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently serving a full-time mission for the Church in Ventura California, speaking Spanish. I am a sophomore at Utah Valley University studying for a bachelors degree in Business Management with an emphasis in Hospitality Management. I spend most of my time hanging out with family, who I love dearly. I enjoy playing the piano, singing in choirs, and watching superhero movies!

Why I am a Mormon

I was BIC or born in the covenant. On my mothers side, my grandmother was the first member to join the Church on her side. My fathers mother has been a member traceable for decades. When I turned 8 I was given the choice to be baptized into the church or not. I chose to do so. This is why: In my life, I have made mistakes, small and big, just like a normal person. But unlike some people, I tend to dwell on my past mistakes and chastise myself for not being perfect. Over the years I have studied and come to the conclusion I do not need to be perfect. The Book of Mormon teaches we can be perfected in Christ if we come unto him and let him into our lives. The atonement is a part of this religion that helps me understand. The idea of the Plan of Salvation is so amazing and wonderful to me. The amount of love our Father in Heaven has for us and his son, Jesus Christ, is unfathomable and always reminds me I am never alone. I am always loved.

How I live my faith

I try to live everyday as if Jesus is walking beside me, in person. I monitor my music, television shows, movies, and friendships so I can always be in a place that the Spirit can guide me in. I read my Book of Mormon daily and have a constant dialogue with my Heavenly Father. When possible, I strive to influence others by magnifying my callings. I also attend institute regularly, as a break from my everyday worldly routine. I am serving a mission to bring others closer to God and help them live with their families forever.
