Hi I'm Summer

I've lived a lot of places, but my home is Utah. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently a junior in high school. I spend most of my time with my family or friends. I used to live in California but just recently moved to the beehive state. Through this transition I've accumulated some hobbies such as archery, piano, singing, writing, and the boring ones like reading or going for bike rides. Music is my life. I feel like it speaks to me in a way plain words just can't. I have a goal to attend BYU and serve a full time mission for the Church.

Why I am a Mormon

I was BIC or born in the covenant. On my mothers side, my grandmother was the first member to join the Church on her side. My fathers mother has been a member traceable for decades. When I turned 8 I was given the choice to be baptized into the church or not. I chose to do so. This is why: In my life, I have made mistakes, small and big, just like a normal person. But unlike some people, I tend to dwell on my past mistakes and chastise myself for not being perfect. Over the years I have studied and come to the conclusion I do not need to be perfect. The Book of Mormon teaches we can be perfected in Christ if we come unto him and let him into our lives. The atonement is a part of this religion that helps me understand. The idea of the Plan of Salvation is so amazing and wonderful to me. The amount of love our Father in Heaven has for us and his son, Jesus Christ, is unfathomable and always reminds me I am never alone. I am always loved.

How I live my faith

I try to magnify my position on the church the best I can. I have had callings in the youth organizations as a counselor and secretary. I enjoy attending and helping in service projects with my ward/stake. I help teach lessons to my youth age group as well as the children by singing songs or presenting presentations. I work hard to read my scriptures and be an example to those around me. Attending seminary even during the summertime gives me an extra boost of confidence to live my everyday life as a representative.
