Hi I'm Jeremy Hodges

I am a missionary serving in the Dominican Republic. I love to run, play basketball, and play the piano. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have just graduated from high school. I am going to go to BYU after I serve a church mission in the Dominican Republic. I love to run and enjoyed participating in track and cross country in high school. I enjoy solving puzzles like Rubik's cubes, playing basketball, and listening to music. I am the youngest in a family of seven and love spending time with my family too. I try to find joy in life by working hard to help myself and others. I love being a member of the church.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised a member of the church. As a child I followed the faith of my parents, but know I know for myself the reality of the doctrines of our church. I am a Mormon because it makes me happy. When I follow the teachings outlined in the scriptures, and strive to follow the Savior, I find great joy. As I have studied the Savior and his teachings through seminary and church each week, I have come to feel that he is personally involved in my life. I have felt the peace and comfort that comes from knowing you are improving and living the right way. The gospel gives me purpose in life. I work on improving myself and living the right way because I have hope of living with Heavenly Father one day, in addition to the happiness I receive now. To have hope is such a great blessing. I never have to despair too greatly over pain, or confusion, or mistakes. The chaos of the world does not bring me fear and sorrow. My hope and faith that Jesus Christ will save me if I do all I can is so reassuring. In the end, if I follow him I know that I will be able to live in happiness and peace, no matter what the other circumstances. I am so grateful for the things I know and live each day. I know that the gospel makes me a better me. With God, all things turn out right in the end.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by acting on the principles I learn. I help prepare the sacrament for church each week. I provide service to others when I can. When I go home teaching, I get to check in with members of our ward, and help them with anything they need. I try to set an example at school by always working extra hard in anything I do. I hope that this shows others the value of hard work and dedication to things. I am preparing to serve a mission where I can share with others what makes me happy in life; the gospel of Jesus Christ.
