Hi I'm Emily

I'm a Music Education Major. I'm a missionary, preparing to serve full-time in Arizona. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi, my name is Emily. I am attending college and hoping to graduate with a degree in Secondary Education. I play the piano and the saxophone, and I am an avid Piano Guys fan. I served a mission in Arizona. I love living life and exploring the world around me.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it gives me hope. It gives me the strength to continue on even when I am tired and in tears and I don't see how I will get through various challenges I may have in my life. I am a Mormon because it answers the why's I might have. I've seen first hand those who choose to ignore the teachings of living prophets. In the end, they always can't quite find that missing part of them--the truth and clarity that comes from living the principles that Jesus Christ taught. I am a Mormon because even when I am not at my best, I know that with the Atonement, I will be.

How I live my faith

I'll be the first to admit that I am not ever quite sure what's going to be my next adventure. However, I do know that trusting my Savior Jesus Christ is a solid foundation. I try to live that in the little things. I served a mission and taught others about this, and learned how to better turn to my God for help through scripture study and prayer. Even when I am afraid or unsure, I have to rely on Christ to help calm me. I try to focus on the little every day miracles.

What is being a Mormon like?

Emily
It's so much fun! Mormons know that they are quirky, but we do it because it truly leads us to happiness. We take those principles that Jesus Christ taught, and we study them as individuals, as families, an as congregations. We try to implement these in our lives. We have fun together because we are learning to be more Christlike together, despite our human weaknesses and quirks. Show more Show less

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Emily
Mormon missionaries go out and proselyte because the message that we hold so dear really does make us happy. It brings a comfort to our lives because it reminds us to turn to Jesus Christ. It's so exciting to get so see someone we love and care about try something that makes us so happy and see them enjoying the difference in their lives. Mormon missionaries go out to help accomplish that exact purpose--to help our loved ones to learn more about something that we honestly believe can change lives for the better because they will literally be coming unto Christ.
