Hi I'm Kresten

I live in Utah. I just graduated from high school. I've been called to serve in the Tonga Nuku'alofa mission, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I've lived in Utah since I was five. I just recently graduated from high school. One of the biggest passions in my life has always been music. I absolutely love to listen to and play music. I play clarinet and guitar (and I am doing my best to learn piano). I played in all the bands that I could in my high school, and I even played in a few outside of school. I love using music to create a soundtrack to my life; it makes everything a little bit more exciting! I also love movies and reading. There is so much good out there to be found, and I want to find as much of it as I can!

Why I am a Mormon

This gospel gives me peace. Life is difficult for everybody. Every person has their own unique struggles. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Days Saints has helped me get through my own struggles, and not only has it helped me get through it, it has made me so happy. This Church has helped me develop a relationship with Jesus Christ. This relationship gives me powerful personal strength. It gives me hope that things will work out. It gives me a way to overcome my inadequacies. I have learned how to be a good person through this Church's teachings, and though I am not there yet, I know that Christ will help me be the best person that I can be. As I have lived what this Church teaches I have been able to see it transform my life. I have been able to make so much more out of it than I would have been able to without the Lord. By living the Church's teachings I have learned that they are true. I see the difference that it makes, and I have felt its cleansing power in my life. This gospel teaches you how to get the most out of this life; this gospel makes me more happy than anything else that I know.

How I live my faith

I have been give so many chances to serve and lead while I've been a member of this church, especially as a member of the youth groups in my ward. I've had chances to teach in classes on Sunday, and I've had the wonderful opportunity to organize youth activities during the week. I've developed many wonderful friendships and I've grown significantly as a person while doing this. I also have the chance to teach one of the families in my ward every month with my dad as a home teacher. It is really great to get to know them better and become friends with them. I love being able to strengthen those bonds that I have in my community. Recently, I've gotten a new opportunity to live my faith by serving a two year mission for the LDS church in Tonga. I feel incredible blessed and I am incredibly excited for this opportunity that I have. I know that it will stretch me so much as I learn a new language and live in a new culture. It won't be easy, I am sure, but I know that I will grow as I teach the people of Tonga about this gospel.
