Hi I'm Kori

I'm from Colorado. I'm a dancer. I'm a student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a 19-year old college student who loves dancing, cooking, pink, kids, and seeing the bright side of things. I grew up in Colorado and I LOVE the outdoors, hiking, biking, camping, anytime I can be in the mountains makes me happy. I have danced ballet, jazz and modern since I was three and I love watching and participating in all kinds of dance. I'm studying to be a special education teacher and I have a passion for working with kids and believe that every student should have an equal opportunity at a good education. I love school and learning and cannot wait to be a teacher. I love my family, my friends and my life and am so grateful for all that I have been blessed with.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a Mormon family, however, this is not the first reason that I am a Mormon. I am a Mormon because I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true and living church on the earth today. I know I have a loving Heavenly Father who knows me personally and answers my prayers. I know there is a living prophet who speaks from modern-day revelation. I know that Christ died for us, was resurrected and lives today. I know that Heavenly Father has a beautiful plan of happiness that allows us to return to Him with our families someday. I know that the Atonement is real and it is the greatest gift that we can utilize in our lives. I am a Mormon because I love the joy, peace and comfort that living the teachings of Christ and His prophets. The church has always been a safe place for me, I have an amazing group of friends in the church. I have never been happier than when I am living the commandments. They keep me safe and on the right path. I love Christ and find such joy in living and serving in His gospel. I could not imagine happiness any other way.

How I live my faith

I was born and raised in the church, so church attendance and living my faith has always been a part of my life. I attend church each Sunday whether I am at home in Colorado with my family or away at college. I live my life a little differently than many of my high school friends, as I choose not to drink, do drugs, dress immodestly, and many other things that I have learned throughout my life that Heavenly Father has asked me not to do. As a teenager, I was actively involved in the church. I was a leader among the youth and helped to organize activities and watched out for my fellow youth to help them feel loved and welcome in the church. Now that I am in college, I attend church at my university and have been able to serve and be a part of the church there. I pray and read the scriptures each day, which is something I love to do because it reminds me each day of what I believe, stand for, and the love that my Heavenly Father has for me. I am currently preparing to serve a full time mission in Nashville Tennessee where I will be teaching the gospel and serving the people in that area for 18 months. I am so excited to commit myself to serving the Lord and His people. I am committed to living my faith for the rest of my life as I return from my mission, continue my education and start a family.
