Hi I'm Jace

I'm an older brother. I'm a lifeguard. I just graduated. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I just graduated from high school, where I was the Student Body President. I love to go hang out with the guys in the evenings. We play Halo, (which I'm not very good at), watch movies, and sometimes meet up with some girls. A few of my close friends and I were in high school choir, and we sing together all the time. Singing brings me a lot of happiness. It's a great stress relief, and it's something you'll catch yourself doing all the time when there's a song stuck in your head. I absolutely love to read as well; probably too much. I also love chilling with my family and doing whatever they do. I'm the oldest of five kids, and I feel a great responsibility to be a good example for them and to show them a lot of love. That can be really hard sometimes, but it's helped keep me on the straight and narrow path. I currently have a summer job as an assistant manager at a pool in my neighboring town. This is the best summer job to have, in my opinion. As a lifeguard, you get to be outside and get a nice tan while watching people have fun, you get plenty of breaks, and in the mornings you get to work with little kids and teach them swim lessons! I'm glad I have a fun way to make money for my mission to the UK, which I will leave for at the end of the summer. I'm so excited!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I have grown up with my parents teaching me about topics like the Plan of Salvation and Joseph Smith. As I have gotten older, I've wanted to have my own testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and not just rely on what my parents say is true. I believed everything I'd been taught, and had never had any cause to doubt my church, but at this point I wanted a testimony of my own, built off of my experiences. So I read the Book of Mormon on my own and I took the challenge that Moroni gives us all in the last chapter. I asked Heavenly Father to tell me whether it was true or not. Over the course of the next week it was like certain little things happened that each testified to me of the words I had read. I no longer believe the Book of Mormon is true; I know it is. And I have had similar experiences where the Spirit has testified to me of the truth. This gospel and the testimony I have gained through it bring me so much joy and peace. I also feel a strong sense of duty. It is my responsibility to share gospel and the joy it brings with anyone who will listen. I have always felt that I was supposed to serve somehow, even before I gained a testimony of my own. But I honestly wasn't sure what that drive meant. Now I am certain this duty that I feel is the duty to gather my Lord's people. I have never been more sure of anything in my entire life.

How I live my faith

Me and the other guys my age all meet together in Priest's quorum on Sunday. We have a lesson on the gospel and plan what we'll do for Mutual, which is when we get together on Tuesday nights and have activities. Sometimes that includes going to Sonic for the Tuesday night special, doing a service project for someone in the community, or having "music appreciation night" and playing Rock Band with our leaders. Whatever it is, it's usually fun. About once a month, my dad and I will "officially" go hometeach a couple of the families in our ward. I say "officially" because we are supposed to share a message with them from the church magazine and see how they're doing, but we already see them just about every day, so we know what they're up to because they're our best family friends! Right now I'm preparing to go through the temple and make special covenants with my Heavenly Father. I'm very excited for this. I'm not totally sure what exactly they do in the temple, because it is very sacred, but I am worthy and willing to find out! I am also preparing to go on a two year mission! I have been called to be a missionary and invite everyone to come unto Christ.
