Hi I'm Ryan Corbett

I grew up in Virginia, I'm a missionary in Washington/Oregon, I love sports, I've never lived in Utah, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a huge sports fanatic. My favorites are basketball, football, and hockey. I've played basketball for 11 years. I graduated high school after my Junior year in order to start college early, and work full-time in order to save up enough money to go on a mission. I also used to do scouting and received the Eagle Scout Award. I am currently serving as a missionary in the Washington Vancouver Mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a mormon because I know the doctrine that is taught in our church is true. I went through a period of time in my life where I chose to disregard the gospel that was freely and lovingly given to me. When I came back to living the way God wants me to I felt much happier and knew I was doing the right things again. God loves all of us the same and wants us to live the right way so we can be truly happy. Knowing this gives me a peace of mind I cannot receive from any other source.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by applying the saying "actions speak louder than words" in my every-day life. I know that people are always noticing us, whether we think that or not. I often refer to Matthew 5 where it talks about being "a light of the world". The world is not always an easy place to live in and can seem rather dark, but if we are following God's commandments as best as we can, our light will shine and be contagious to those who see it. I can definitely testify that keeping your standards high no matter who is around will benefit you the rest of your life.
