Hi I'm Danielle

I love to travel, experience different cultures and meet new people. I will soon be serving a mission in Yekaterinburg Russia.

About Me

I am going into my Sophomore year of college and I am studying to become a maternity nurse. I chose this profession because I love babies and this gives me the opportunity to help while being surrounded by them all day. I use to model in high school and I mainly did runway. It was hard to continually uphold my standards in that environment so at the end of my senior year I quit. I really enjoyed all the experiences I had, but I am happy to be done with that part of my life. When I went to college I realized my love to explore and participate in different cultures. I made it a goal to go some place new every weekend, even if it was only 5 minutes away from me.

Why I am a Mormon

It is quite simple, it makes me happy. There is no greater joy you will feel than the joy you feel from living the gospel. Heavenly Father has created this beautiful world for us and has given us so much to enjoy, however, Satan has also created things here on earth that look like they would bring us joy. It can be confusing sometimes, but ultimately God wants us to be happy and Satan does not. This gospel leads us down the path that God has provided and gives us the long lasting happiness we seek. That does not mean that it is trial free, but it does mean that you can be stronger throughout the trials knowing that the pain is only temporary. I am happiest when I am living the gospel and participating in church activities.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending church meetings regularly and studying the scriptures everyday - there is always something new I get out of them each time I read. I also work with the youth. I am close to their ages and have recently gone through the things that they are going through right now. I try to give them guidance through hard times and always keep myself available to be a friend they can turn to if they ever need help. In just a few days I will be leaving my home and going to serve a mission in Russia. While I am there I will preach the gospel in their language and do humanitarian projects. I will be gone for a year and a half, and I am going to work my hardest to serve Heavenly Father, and my brothers and sisters, to the best of my ability.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

A testimony is of things that you know and believe. It comes from your heart. As children or as converts it is common to lean on someone else's testimony of the church and of Heavenly Father before you gain one of your own. To know for yourself you must read and ponder the scriptures, attend church faithfully and pray with a humble heart and real intent. When you do these things the Holy Ghost will manifest the truth of it unto you. For example: I know that this is the true church. I know that Heavenly Father lives and loves me. I know that Jesus Christ, our brother, sacrificed himself so that we can have the atonement and one day return to live with them again. I know without a doubt that Joseph Smith is a prophet and that there are prophets here on the earth today to guide us. I know this life is hard and full of trials but if we endure faithfully we will be able to live with our Father in Heaven again. I know the Holy Ghost can be our constant companion and has manifested the truth of all these things unto me. I am proud and happy to be part of this church and I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen. Show more Show less
