Hi I'm Jaxon Reiley

I grew up in Teton Valley, Idaho, I am an eagle scout, I have a sweet tooth, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I just graduated high school. I was a three-sport athlete playing football, basketball, and baseball. Sports have taught me many lessons that will help me later in life. Not only do I love to play sports, but I love watching them, too! I passionately follow the Cleveland Indians, Cavaliers, and Browns. I have never lived in Cleveland nor has any of my family, but we all root for them. I love to spend time in the outdoors. I hunt, fish, and ride horses. I have a bad sweet tooth so I love anything sweet!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have felt the Spirit of God testifying to me that the church is true. The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. The Bible is a record of His ministry in the old world and the Book of Mormon is a record of Him in the new world. The Book of Mormon is true. I have read and reread the Book of Mormon and I learn something new every time I read it. It was written hundreds of years ago, but it is intended for our day. I testify that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and it is the keystone of my faith and religion. I know that Jesus Christ is the savior and redeemer of the world. It is only through our faith in him that we can be saved and return to dwell with God forever. He is the light and the life of the world. However, he will not save us in our sins, but only from our sins. Our Earthly life is a probationary time to show God that we are willing to obey him and keep his commandments. Jesus Christ went through all of the pain and guilt that we have felt and will surely feel as we live this life. He knows our struggles and weaknesses. Through Him, our weaknesses can be made strong and we can enjoy life with our Heavenly Father and our family. I have a testimony of the Plan of Salvation. We will all see our loved ones again. God has a plan for each of us. We all have a divine purpose to fulfill in this life. I am a child of God and he loves me more than I can even comprehend. He knows me better than anybody else and I know that if I put my trust in him, everything will work out. I am thankful for the knowledge that I have of this gospel. It has brought me more happiness and joy than anything else this world has to offer. Most importantly, it has brought hope and eternal perspective to my life. I am not a Mormon because I was raised in the church. I am not a Mormon because my parents are Mormon. I am a Mormon because the Spirit of God has bore witness to me that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day saints is true.

How I live my faith

I have been active in the LDS church for my entire life. I was baptized when I was eight years old and have served in church callings throughout my life. I have magnified my calling in the church the most through service. In reality, all of the callings in the church are callings to serve. I have made sacrifices to my church and God. We are not financially compensated by the church. The biggest sacrifice that many Mormons make, including myself, is paying a 10% tithe of all of our earnings. The blessings that come from paying tithing far outweigh 10% of our earnings. Considering that God has given us everything, tithing is just a small way to thank Him for all he has given us. I am not perfect, but I strive to keep the commandments that God has given us.
