Hi I'm Chelsea

I was born in Japan and am half Japanese but lived most of my life in Utah. I love playing sports and I love art. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love playing sports and was on the volleyball and basketball teams in high school. I also love to draw and read and just spend time with my friends and family. I recently graduated from high school and plan on majoring in art after I serve an LDS mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been raised in the church but have only really gained a true testimony of the gospel about two years ago. I was a junior in high school and didn't know if the church was true. But instead of using the doubts I had as motivation for working hard to gain a testimony and finding out for myself whether it's true or not I stopped going to church and I stopped attending my young womens activities and I stopped reading the Book of Mormon. However as time went by I realized how unhappy I was and I felt like I was missing something in my life. So one day I decided I would go to seminary and pay attention instead of falling asleep. That day we talked about the plan of salvation and we talked a little bit about families. I realized then that I needed to try harder to know if the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was true or not because I loved my family and I wanted to be with them forever and I didn't want to not be with them just because I wouldn't try to find out for myself. So I started going back to church and reading the scriptures and by doing so I gained a testimony and found out for myself that this church is the true church and that my savior Jesus Christ lives and loves us and our heavenly father loves us and has a plan for each of us. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet and that President Monson is a true prophet today. I know that families can be together forever and if we endure to the end no matter how hard it gets sometimes we will be blessed. I know that heavenly father never asks us to do something that we can't handle and he never gives us trials that we can't overcome. I have gained a testimony of these things and more and I have been so much happier with the gospel in my life.

How I live my faith

I am a primary teacher in my ward and I teach 5 adorable 5 year olds. I haven't had this calling for very long since I graduated high school just a year ago but I love it very much and will be sad to say goodbye to the children I teach when I leave to serve a full time mission. I love being surrounded by the kids in primary and feel blessed to have my calling as a primary worker.
