Hi I'm Carly Ann

I am like to play golf and sing really loudly in my car to myself (and to others in nearby cars) and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am two years through a degree in Mechanical Engineering and hope to design roller coasters for Disney or anyone really! It is my dream to take future child to a theme park and say "Mommy designed that ride. Let's go!" I am the third of four girls in my family's crazy world.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church but I really discovered my own faith when I was twelve and I read the Book of Mormon for the first time. When I followed Moroni's challenge in chapter 10 I expected my story to be exactly like Joseph Smith's. I wanted Heavenly Father and Jesus to come down and tell me that it was true, or at least an angel. Well that didn't happen, but the promise was fulfilled and I knew through the power of the Holy Ghost that the Book of Mormon is a true book and what it says in the introduction is also true. "a man would get nearer to God by abiding by its (the Book of Mormon's) precepts, than by any other book." By living the teachings of the Book of Mormon I have come closer to my Father in Heaven and can feel his love every day. I know this gospel is true and that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. I know that Thomas Monson leads this church today and he is also a true and faithful prophet. I love this gospel and the peace and happiness it brings into my life and I cannot wait to share what I know with the people in my mission field.

How I live my faith

I enjoy the relationships I have developed in this church. I have never met anyone who wouldn't be willing to help me in any way I would need and hope that they would say the same about me. I have chosen to serve a mission and am so very grateful for the opportunity that I have to serve all the people I will soon meet!

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Carly Ann
When you have a really good warm chocolate chip cookie straight from the oven and take a bite you feel such incredible joy. When there are those you love around do you not also give them a taste of what made you feel warm and happy? The church for me is like a cookie. It has many ingredients and has to come at the right time. Through the prophet Joseph Smith, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has the restored gospel of Christ back on the earth in the right time and as members we feel the joy that it brings us and we want to share that joy with others we meet. Missionaries commit 18 months or 2 years to share our great gospel "cookie." Jesus taught his disciples, "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations" Matt. 28:19 As followers of Christ we are his disciples. We will therefore go and teach! Show more Show less
