Hi I'm Elli

I am a lover of the earth, a believer in people, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am currently a student at Brigham Young University in Provo studying Human Development. I love learning and have absolutely loved studying in Provo. I grew up in Colorado, and as such, I love being a place with all four seasons and with plenty of outdoor activities. Upon graduation, I hope to either become a teacher or attend law school. As I'm sure you're thinking, those are two very different things. You're right! However, I have found that when I chose to be an active disciple of Jesus Christ, my eyes were opened to the many, many possibilities for my future. I love having a Savior who rejoices in the things that bring me joy. He knows what my future holds and He will lead me on the path that will bring me the brightest hope.

Why I am a Mormon

There are more reasons than I can count for my being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. One that sticks out prominently at this point in my life is that I can see God's hand in my life every day. I see the way He places people in my life to change me for the better, I see His hand in the beauty of nature, and I even see His hand in the way I can miraculously finish assignments on time that I don't have time to finish. The list could go on for days. I know that Christ is my redeemer and my literal Savior. He has saved me from eternal sadness and I feel that through the way He blesses me when I am obedient to the commandments of God. I am buoyed up by the members of the Mormon church and their faith to serve God by serving His children. I know that God loves us and wants us to be happy. I believe that people can change and I know that true and lasting change comes only through Christ. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I find joy because of what He has given me. Even through times of doubt and trial, I always know that God loves me and all of His children. That truth is the reason why I celebrate being a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by actively seeking to serve my brothers and sisters. Christ is the ultimate exemplar of service and I find that the times I feel closest to Him are when I am living as He lived.
