Hi I'm Rachel Ruth Peters

Born and raised in Bountiful Utah, 19 years old with a current mission call to the beautiful Costa Rica. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

You will often times find me responding the the name Red, because of my long red hair.I love to smile and be happy. I love to be with people, and see the smile that I can put on their faces through little acts of service. My family means everything to me and I would do anything for any of them. I love doing anything outside: camping, rock climbing, four wheeling, baseball, volleyball. I love it all. I just finished my first year of college at UVU. There I was an ambassador for the school and also in the CAL program. I will now be taking a short break to go and serve the wonderful people of Costa Rica for 18 months.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it brings me so much joy, happiness and peace in my life. Being Mormon gives you a new perspective on life, an eternal perspective, in which makes you realize what things are really important, and what other things aren't as important. I have always been a member of this church, born right into it and have stuck with it my whole life. But every member must have their own conversion, whether born into this church, or introduced to it latter. I know that my conversion came gradually throughout my life and many different experience. It wasn't like a one lightening bolt moment in my life that after it i knew that this church was true. It was the daily, little things that I did or didn't do that made me realize that this church was true. It was not only reading my scriptures, but studying them. It was not just praying, but speaking to my Heavenly Father. And by trying my very hardest every day to live this gospel to the fullest. There have been plenty of times that I have messed up, and not done what I should have. But that is where the power of the atonement comes in. Through it, I was cleansed for my mistakes and made clean once again. The atonement has also given me power to know that I am never alone. Even if i feel like i am alone, Jesus Christ knows exactly what I am going through and what i need. He and my Heavenly Father know me perfectly and know what is best for me. I am so grateful for this gospel and for my opportunity to share this message with the people of Costa Rica :)

How I live my faith

I strive every single day of my life to live my faith. I grew up in a home where we always were told to do our best, especially when it comes to this gospel. My parents are both very strong and have helped me be able to gain some of that strength myself. They also taught me how to love the scriptures and treasure them above everything else. Since the age of 12, I have never missed a night of studying my scriptures. They have become a very big part of me, especially the Book of Mormon. If I have any sort of problem, I can always find answers, strength and comfort through them. I live my faith by sharing this book with others. Also be living high standards, no matter what other people around me are doing. I never look for an occasion to dress immodestly, or break commandments, but instead look for ways I can follow them even more, and become a little better everyday. I live my faith by always being happy. I believe that that is one of the best ways to show what you believe. This gospel is called the "Plan of Happiness" for a reason. It brings happiness unlike anything else in this life.
