Hi I'm John

I grew up in Italy and Canada. I love to play sports, listen to music and hang out with friends. I am a Mormon!

About Me

I lived in Italy for 5 years then moved to Canada in grade 2. I love basically every sport except for hockey (funny how I'm Canadian) and I have finished my first year of university in the field of Sport Management. I really enjoy playing soccer, tennis and baseball as I play or have played them competitively. I also enjoy music and have pursued this interest by becoming a DJ. I started my passion by performing at clubs beginning at age 15. I now DJ for weddings, school events, formals, nightclubs, birthday parties and other miscellaneous gatherings. I love making people happy with my music by making them sing and dance. I have a younger sister and a younger step brother. I got called to serve in the Costa Rica San Jose mission and will be leaving for the MTC soon! I'm very excited to learn Spanish and serve the people of Costa Rica.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a member my whole life, it is difficult to not experience the other views of the world and call mine own the truth. However, after reading the Book of Mormon and feeling the Spirit myself through prayer and experiences I know that this is the only true and living gospel on the earth. I know that I could not feel the same way I have by being apart of another church. I see what kind of a person I am today and a large part of it is because of how I was raised and by the church. I have been asked why I'm always so happy and I think this is because I know why we are on earth and the purpose of life. It is to return to our Father in heaven. I know that giving up two years of my life is nothing in comparison to what Jesus had to go through as he suffered through everyone's trials. I have a testimony that He lives and died for us. I have a testimony that Joseph Smith did pray and God the father and Jesus Christ did appear unto him. Joseph was just like any other person which proves that God answers prayers and loves & knows each and every one of us. I have a testimony of the Book of Mormon and know that it is the word of God. There's so much that can be continually learned from the book and it gives so much history of our ancestors. I love this church so much and I know whenever I feel alone that He is always there for you even when you have sinned. Thank you for taking the time to read this and may God bless you!

How I live my faith

I've been a member my whole life and regularly participate in church activities. While in the young men's program, I attended several EFY (Especially For Youth) conferences at BYU (Brigham Young University). I've done baptisms for the dead, including my own family members and baptized my younger step brother when he turned 8 years old. I love attending my home ward as we regularly have interesting discussions in missionary preparation class as well as meeting with other priesthood holders. I really enjoy talking with the youth in my ward and relating with them. I've been the DJ for many youth multi-stake dances, YSA (young single adult) dances and have even done a SA (single adult) dance. I really enjoy learning about the atonement and enjoy relating scriptures to the present life and times. I sometimes attend the YSA ward where most of my friends are and enjoy the thoughts shared there as they are more relatable to me as a young man preparing to go on a mission. Currently, I am preparing to leave to serve the Lord by daily prayer, reading my scriptures and using church resources to get myself as ready as I can to be the best missionary I can be.
