Hi I'm Brayden

I am a writer. I am a gamer. I am a scholar. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the church in a strong and active family. When I was little, however, I never really fit in with other kids. I was shy and mostly kept to myself. I learned to write to express myself and focused most of my time on school. When I got into high school, I forced myself to come out of my shell. I joined the jazz band as a bass player and started participating in role-play based marketing competitions through DECA. I also discovered gaming. I am an avid Starcraft, DOTA 2, and League of Legends player and fan.

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I grew up in the church, I still had to develop my own personal testimony of Christ and his gospel. Simply knowing the doctrine isn't enough. In order to develop true and lasting faith, you have to learn for yourself of the truthfulness of the teachings of the Gospel. I did just this. I am a Mormon because I have read the Book of Mormon, prayed for guidance, and received a spiritual confirmation that Christ lives and that his work continues to go forth through his church. When trials come upon me, I remember and witness I received and seek comfort through prayer and the spiritual strengthening of the Holy Ghost.

How I live my faith

As I sought ways for me to live my faith in Christ, I discovered a special gift that I had been blessed with. I made people feel comfortable around me. This ability allowed me to effectively serve in numerous service groups, such as the Boy Scouts, National Honor Society, Parent Teacher Student Association, and the Youth City Council. With these groups, I help to reach out to those in need by organizing food and clothing drives. We encourage learning by reading with children at elementary schools. We organize banquets for senior citizens and volunteer at children's booths during city celebrations. As I serve others, I think about the example of love and charity that Christ set for us and do my best to follow in his footsteps.
