Hi I'm Sela

I love the savior and I am a missionary who looks forward to serving the people of Sweden and bringing them the restored gospel.

About Me

Languages have always fascinated me, so during my junior year of high school I embarked on a journey of a lifetime to Spain to learn Spanish. Afterwards, because of the difficulty of taking high school classes in another language I had quite a few classes to make up, so during that next summer I worked on packets. Unfortunately, the packets weren't enough to receive the required credits to graduate, so throughout my senior year I enrolled in three college classes each semester receiving the adequate credits for graduation and obtaining 21 extra credits that I would start with at the beginning of my college experience. Because of my fluency in Spanish, I was able to receive another 19 credits, leaving me with only two semesters of school to obtain my associates degree. After a very long and stressful year of college, I was able achieve my goal of earning my associates degree before leaving on my mission. I think having my call and knowing that I would at last be able to serve God and his people is what got me through this last semester. When studies were overwhelming and tests were frequent, it was always nice to feel comforted as I reached out for inspiration and God's help. Without God's help I wouldn't have been able to accomplish any of this. These next eighteen months I dedicate to him for helping and blessing me so much in these first 19 years of my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I need God in my life. I find that I am a better person and receive greater happiness as I do God's will and those things that are pleasing to him. Although I have fell many times, he always picks me back up and reminds me of his love for me. His hand is always stretched out to me, it's just up to me if I will grab hold of it and let him guide and lead me. The LDS church is all about families. Through Christ and his sacrifice for me, I can one day have a family of my own to be sealed for time and all eternity, to live with them forever. Some may think that it impossible to have joy and bliss forever, but I know that it is possible. Because of my membership in this church I have been given the most precious gift known to man. The gift of the Holy Ghost. As long as I am listening intently and remember my God in all my actions, the Holy Ghost can testify and teach me each and every day. Because of the Holy Ghost, I am able to receive inspiration from God and I am able to feel just a sliver of the joy that I will one day be able to feel when I return unto to him again. I look forward with great happiness to the day that I am reunited with my loving Heavenly Father and my brother Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

Memorizing is a constant struggle for me and above all is my biggest weakness that causes me to doubt my abilities and even who I am as a person. Because of this weakness I have been given ample opportunity this year to put more trust and faith in God and his promise that he will make weak things become strong. In Ether he says, "And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them." This year I have gained more trust in the Savior and that his grace is sufficient for me too. After putting in hours of study, I would put the results into God's hands vowing to myself that I would praise him and be grateful no matter if I were successful or not. There were a few scores that I had to praise God for that were low, but even with some low scores the end result was better than I could have ever imagined. With every test I took these last two semesters, the material that I had learned was brought to my remembrance. I did better in college than I ever expected was even possible finishing with a 3.91 gpa.
