Hi I'm Alex

I grew up in Tennessee. I plan to be a mechanical engineer. I love soccer and the outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I just graduated high school and will soon be serving in the Salt Lake City East mission! During my high school years, i worked at a well-known, southerly, fast-food chain, Zaxby's, where i saved up half of my mission. I participated on the high school's soccer team all four years and played travel soccer in most of the summers. I am huge soccer fan and have been ever since i was young. I play midfield and striker positions. I am also a huge fan of the outdoors! In my youth, I went on three 50-mile trips (two hiking and one canoeing) and countless scout and high-adventure camps. One of the major events of my life was receiving my eagle award after completing a food drive which raised over $5000 worth of food for the local community food bank. Academically, i placed in the top ten percent of my class and received a highest honors diploma. I was in two honors societies namely International Thespian Society and the National Honors Society. I took a few AP courses but fell in love with AP Calculus and AP Physics. I have been accepted to BYU Provo and plan to study mechanical engineering. I hope to pursue a life of accomplishment and hard-work being centered upon the principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the Mormon church but this does NOT mean I'm obligated to be a Mormon. I searched for truth and things that i know were positive, uplifting, and good and i found them! In fact i have found the ultimate source of all these things. Christ. I know that by living after the teaching of Jesus Christ that one can find peace, joy and happiness! I know that a lot of times in our world its hard to find and even harder to keep these things but it isn't so when you put your effort into living by Christ's words. I have found the truth of the Bible and Book of Mormon and delight in pouring over their pages! I know of myself that these things are true and faithful and have dedicated two years of my life to sharing the things i have found to be true.

How I live my faith

I am a huge believer in showing my beliefs by living them. For example, I let those around me know i value and support principles and morals such as integrity by refusing to cheat or help others cheat, by doing what i say i will do no matter the inconvenience, and by putting honest and hard-work into my obligations. I am passionate about anything and everything that will draw me nearer to Christ. I absolutely love the Bible and Book of Mormon! They are truly and inspired books and i strive to read them every, single day. I love to learn and apply the teachings found in these books because i know that they are good and true and have proved and will continue to be beneficial to my life. This also means that i refuse certain things because i recognize they are not uplifting and beneficial for me. I believe in hard-work. I believe that everyone has certain gifts in which they are obligated to offer the world and to make it a better place as best they are capable. Obviously, hard-work is major factor in the formula to discover and appropriately use the gifts and strengths you possess. My life can be summed up through the process of learning and applying that which i have found to be true.
