Hi I'm Whitney

I grew up in a small town in Idaho and now I am serving a mission in Paris, France! After, I'll return to BYU-Idaho for college.

About Me

I love being a lifeguard and teaching swim lessons! I am going to college for a nursing degree. I am in love with traveling and I can’t wait to see the whole world, and take pictures to document my adventures. My favorite colors are pink and mint green. I’d like to think I’m a creative person; I just really enjoy trying new things and being a little adventurous. I am great at keeping things organized and in order. I think my dream job is to be a secretary or receptionist someday, because I enjoy that sort of thing so much. I also love to take the lead and be in charge, but I’m also great at following directions and respecting authority. When I was young, I learned how to play the piano, and I love it, and have always wanted to improve my skills. I have been a part of many different choirs and love singing. I am always looking for opportunities to be a part of another choir. In my free time, I absolutely love taking pictures, writing letters to missionaries, reading sci-fi and fantasy novels, watching movies, collecting quotes, and doodling. I also love playing sports both for fun and competitively, and being active. I enjoy being with my family and friends. I have taken a recent liking to playing racquetball with my family. Ever since I was little, I have had a love for Winnie the Pooh, and even now, I still love Pooh Bear. I also love superheroes and I collect perfume bottles.

Why I am a Mormon

Over the past few years, I have found out for myself that this church is true. I have discovered that this is the place I need to be, and the things that are taught and preached are true. I believe in all of the principles and doctrines of this church, and would love to share more of my testimony if you are willing to listen!

How I live my faith

I am currently serving as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Paris, France. I served in the Missionary Training Center from October until Mid-November of 2014, and will then travel to France! I will return to my home in April 2016 after serving my 18 months. I was born into the church but I have come to gain my own testimony and surety of this gospel. It has continued to grow and grow each day. In my last few callings, I have served in the Relief Society Presidency of a Singles Ward, and also in the Activity Days group back in my home ward. They were both so rewarding because not only did I get to teach, but I learned from the youth teaching me as well!

What is the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. It is written by ancient prophets, on the American continent, that prophesied of and eventually witnessed the coming of Christ to this earth. It is the word of God. It does not take place of the bible, it is an additional witness. The Bible and Book of Mormon go hand in hand, supporting and re-enforcing principles found in each. A challenge is made at the end of the book, asking those who read it, to pray to God and question the validity. If sought after with a pure heart, the Spirit of God will testify to you that it is true. Show more Show less
