Hi I'm Suzie

I am a wife and mother of five children. I grew up in Moroni, Utah. I am a school teacher. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married for 26 years. My husband and I are the parents of five great children. I am a sixth grade teacher and my husband is an attorney. I have a Master's degree in education and I am currently working on my administrative certification so I can qualify to be a principal. My oldest son is living on the East coast going to law school. His wife is an elementary school teacher. My daughter teaches seventh grade history and her husband is in college. My second son is in college and my third son is serving a mission for our church in Africa. My youngest son is a junior in high school. We love to spend time together when we can. My husband grew up on a cattle ranch, so we try to go there as often as we can to help his brother and his dad. We enjoy camping, rodeos, plays, tennis, horseback riding, and skiing.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because my ancestors joined the church in the 1800s in New York and in England. I am a fifth generation Mormon. While I was growing up, my parents were semi-active in the church. I loved the gospel and attended church regularly. When I was in high school, I decided I needed to decide for myself if Jesus Christ was real and if this was His church. I studied the scriptures and prayed about it. Over time, the truthfulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ was confirmed to me. Have I ever had doubts? Yes! Due to live's challenges, there have been times I have wondered if it is all true and if Jesus is really there. Every time I go through a challenging time in my life, I have felt my Savior's love and that same quiet confirmation has come again and again. Jesus Christ lives. He lived on the earth, set up his church and taught the gospel. He atoned for our sins through the ultimate sacrifice of giving his life in our behalf. I love him and I am eternally grateful for his example, for all he has done and continues to do for us.

How I live my faith

I attend church every Sunday. "Where much is given, much is expected." I have had so many blessings in my life, so I try to serve and help people the way Jesus Christ would if he were here. I work with the youth in my church, specifically the young women. I teach their Sunday class and attend an activity with them one night a week. We have youth conference and girl's camp in the summer as well. I am a visiting teacher. This means my assigned companion and I visit five ladies in my church ward every month. We check on them to see how they are doing, give them a message about Jesus Christ and ask them if they need any help from us. I read from the Book of Mormon daily and pray often.
