Hi I'm Mary

I live in Michigan. I'm a college student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student in Michigan, majoring in Communications and minoring in psychology and sociology. (Can you tell I love the social and behavioral sciences?) I love to spend time with my family, read, and help others as much as I can. I grew up in the great city of Ann Arbor, but then moved away for college two years ago. After I graduate college, I hope to move out west and start my own petting zoo! I have always loved animals, the outdoors, and children, so what better way to incorporate all three?! I love going to the beach; in the summer you will find me on the shores of Lake Michigan almost everyday!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that this is Christ's restored church on the earth today. I am a convert, and I can say that this gospel has changed my life. I grew up Presbyterian, but it never felt totally right. When I met the missionaries, everything they taught me DID feel totally right! I love the Book of Mormon, and know that it is the word of God. I know that through faith in Jesus Christ, repentance, baptism, receiving the Gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end we can receive eternal life. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet who translated the Book of Mormon and restored the kingdom of Christ, and that we still have a living prophet on the earth today. I am a Mormon, because since I was baptized on March 22, 2014, I am the happiest I have ever been in my entire life. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ so much, and I can't wait to see what is in store for the rest of my life. With my Heavenly Father on my side, I know that I will always be on the winning team, even if I am the only person in my family that is a member of the church.

How I live my faith

I am extremely active in my branch. I attend church every Sunday, and every Monday we have a home evening group and on Friday we have an activity for members. I currently am the service and activities director, which means I coordinate opportunities for members to do service, both at the church and in the larger community. I frequently help the missionaries to teach lessons to their investigators, because not only am I helping to share the gospel, but it helps to strengthen my testimony of the restored gospel. I love the church so much, and it has helped me find the true me, so I pretty much spend all of my extra time doing church activities, and I can say that there is nothing else I would rather be doing with my time :)
