Hi I'm Sydney

I dance in the rain. I love the outdoors. I'm the baby of my family, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have always had a love for nature and anything to do with it. I became very active in 4H and FFA in High School, and I am now going to BYU-Idaho with a major in Animal Science. I train service dogs along with my family, and I am a Mariners fanatic. I have two older sisters and a little brother who passed away recently. It was the hardest thing that ever happened to me, but because I know what I do, I have been able to heal as well as becoming closer to my family and the church.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church by a wonderful family. My parents have always shown me and my siblings how to love, and they have never failed to make us feel special. Even with that example they gave me, I fell away from the church and became quite rebellious, hoping I could "become my own person". This continued for a few years, until I started instead becoming my own worst enemy. It seems it was overnight that I became so desperate and I seriously prayed for the first time in ages. From that point on, I have never had any doubts in the church. I have seen firsthand the joy and peace it brings to a person's life, and it is through the church that I know I can stand up again after falling to my knees time and time again. Even as I experience hardships, I feel at peace knowing I can and will overcome them, and I will be stronger than I was before.

How I live my faith

I have never been one to voice my testimony to others very often, however, I am a firm believer that testimonies don't necessarily have to be heard (though hearing them is great!), but rather seen and felt. I love teaching people by example, and I love even more when I know I've made a difference in someone's life whether I've changed their life or did something so little as being there for them in a time of need. I tend to be a shy person, but when I know I can do something for someone else, there's a part of me that just becomes alive.
