Hi I'm Matthew Thompson

I'm currently a missionary in Phoenix, AZ. I was born in Ohio, I love basketball, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 19 years old and graduated from high school in Utah. I have 3 siblings and love doing anything with them. I am now serving an LDS mission in Phoenix from July, 2014 to July, 2016. I played basketball, football, and ran track in high school and I love watching and playing all sports. After my mission, I plan on attending college with the ultimate goal of becoming a neurologist.

Why I am a Mormon

As a life-long member of the LDS church, I've never known life without the gospel of Jesus Christ, and I don't want to know it. Life is difficult no matter who you are, where you live, or what you do. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon) has given me very real comfort, strength, and guidance in times of need. I will be a member of this church forever, so now my goal is to bring others unto Christ as well. Just like when we read a good book or try a delicious new food we recommend it to others and desire them to gain the same satisfaction and happiness we have gained, so I want to share my knowledge of this gospel with as many other people I can so they have the opportunity to enjoy the same happiness I enjoy as a member of Christ's true church on this earth. The key to this happiness is the Book of Mormon. Like the Bible, it testifies of Jesus Christ and the promises God has made to us if we keep his commandments and serve others. The Book of Mormon is true; The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true.

How I live my faith

I've been a member of the LDS church my whole life and am now serving an LDS mission in Phoenix, AZ. I've served as a leader in church youth groups, which includes responsibilities of planning fun and uplifting activities, caring for others in the church youth program, and helping other youth gain the desire to participate in church activities and functions.
