Hi I'm Myq

Been a Latter-day Saint of Jesus Christ for many years: in New Mex, Alaska, Argentina, Turkey, Peru, and now WA, USA. I love it!

About Me

I like to ponder deep questions and find theories that answer them. (e.g. I am pretty sure that I can prove logically the existence of God.) I also enjoy learning about other people's religion and what is good in them. Although not a musician, I enjoy writing simple tunes and poetry. I love travel but cannot do it as much as I would like. Even so, I have lived in USA, Argentina, Turkey, and Peru and loved all of them. I am retired, married to a beautiful wife, and have 4 children and 3 grandchildren.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it makes so much sense to me. God is love, and this Church teaches love better than any other organization in the world, save one (a functional family). Almost no one works for money in this Church; we work for love. We don't choose how we serve; we leave that up to God to reveal to our leaders through inspiration. We often get put into new and challenging situations that increase our ability to love God and our fellowman. It makes sense to me that a God of love would write regularly to His children We have scripture given to us in addition to the Bible, scripture that God prepared for us specifically for this period in time. The Bible is wonderful, but it was written 2,000 to 4,000 years ago to people who were very different from those of our day. For instance, they thought nothing of slavery. It was completely okay with them, and the Bible did not condemn it. But the Book of Mormon and subsequent scripture tells us that slavery is not okay for our day.

How I live my faith

I attend Church each Sunday and serve as an employment specialist, helping people to write resumes and find employment. I also serve one day per week in the temple, helping to seal families together forever. And I enjoy singing in the choir as a baritone.
