Hi I'm Katelyn

I am an Idaho girl. I am a student. I play tennis. I am a Mormon.

About Me

As busy as life can be I like to enjoy every chaotic minute of it. I am a college student that is currently on summer break. I am working two jobs, trying to learn Italian, spending free time at the lake with my family, and grabbing ice cream with friends. I love to play tennis and any other sport as long as I avoid embarrassing or injuring myself (or others). I am an Elementary Education major. I look back on my younger years and I reflect on the help I had along the way. Teachers made a big difference in my attitude towards school. I hope to someday share that excitement of learning new things with my future students and helping them prepare for the big world that awaits them. I want them to never give up as hard as life might get and know that the tiny steps will allow them to create their own adventures!

Why I am a Mormon

My parents always gave me the option to explore different religions growing up but I have always felt a special feeling at my church. I was ten when I started to gain my own knowledge of the truth of my church. My grandpa passed away when I was ten. It was very hard for me and all my family but I remember the peace I felt at the funeral when we sang at the end "God be With You Til We Meet Again". Since then my heart has been uplifted for the love Christ had to die for me and that if I obey and follow God's commandments I can return to live with Him and my loved ones again through the ordinances found in our temple. I know that true happiness comes only when I have a relationship with my Heavenly Father. I know that He hears and answers my prayers because I have felt it. I am a daughter of my Heavenly Father and I know that He loves me and sees my true potential in this life and in eternal life.

How I live my faith

I have participated in the church as a Sunday school teacher, a Young Women's leader, and a Birthday Coordinator. In each position I have been nervous and unsure that I would be able to fulfill each calling but the Lord has helped me do things I couldn't have done alone. I have now been called to serve an 18 month mission to Milan Italy. I will be sharing God's true gospel with the people of Italy and learn Italian so I can communicate with them. I have never been so nervous in my life but I do know that if I am diligent and put all my trust in the Lord I will be able to help others feel the pure joy I feel from this gospel.
