Hi I'm Tapenisi Asi

I was born in Aukland, New Zealand and grew up in Reno, Nevada. Im a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Sister Tapenisi Asi and Im proud to be a Mormon. My family is the most important thing in my life. I have a total of 7 siblings and my 2 wonderful parents that I am so grateful to have. I am Tongan and I love to eat! I love to go on adventures like hiking, swimming, and going to local concerts. I am an admirer of arts, such as music and paintings. I love being outside and observing nature! I am a missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Pennsylvania Philadelphia.

Why I am a Mormon

God has a plan for my happiness and I love being happy! have been a member my whole life, thanks to my parents. Both my mom and dad found the church when they were in their teenage years in Tonga. They both served a full time mission in Tonga. They knew that the church was true as soon as they heard the message. They met each other and got married in the New Zealand temple. They both made the decision to have children and to travel across the ocean into the United States because they wanted to give their kids the opportunities that they never had. I am grateful to have parents who were converted unto the Lord and I am grateful for the love that they give me. I know that Heavenly Father loves me and I know that he has a plan for my family to be together for all time and eternity. Ive come to know for myself that this is the same church that Jesus Christ established to the earth and that same power is on the earth again. I am grateful that I have the knowledge of the gospel because I know that through all the trials and rough patches in my life I was able to turn to the Lord. Ive come to know that I am a daughter of God and that I don't have to do this on my own. I know that we have a living prophet who oversees the world and I know that as we follow the prophet that we will never be led astray. I know that because of the Book of Mormon which was translated by the prophet Joseph Smith I know of how I can return to live my my Heavenly Father again.

How I live my faith

I am a representative of Jesus Christ and I live my faith by doing local service projects and helping others strengthen their faith in Jesus Christ. I help to strengthen families and to build Christ centered relationships that will bring them closer to God.

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Tapenisi Asi
By divine design, fathers are to watch over and teach their families in love and righteousness. They are to provide the necessities of life and protection for their families. Mothers are primarily responsible for the nurture of their children. In these sacred responsibilities, fathers and mothers should help one another as equal partners. (Taken from “The Family: A Proclamation to the World” which was written by twelve modern Apostles through inspiration from the Lord.) Both parents should be involved in the care and discipline of children. It is important to agree on family goals and be willing to work toward them with their children. If parents are not in harmony and do not have mutual respect, the children may become confused and lose confidence in their parents. Both parents should be unified and intimately involved in the upbringing of their children. Show more Show less
