Hi I'm Hermana Velasquez (Jeni)

I grew up in Idaho. I am on my mission now to Merida, Mexico! It's an amazing experience! I love the gospel and I love this church

About Me

My name is Jeni. I am 20 years old. I love this gospel and all that it has done in my life. I grew up in this church, my father was a convert and my mother also grew up in the LDS church. I was a student at byui. I love to play volleyball, I like to dance, and I love music. I am currently serving a mission for the LDS church. I am serving in Merida, Mexico. I love my mission already and it has only been a month! I get to serve for the period of 18 months. I know this church is true, I know all things are possible with the Lord on your side. I know the happiness the church brings into lives. I have seen it with my family and with others. I know if we look for blessings that we have in our lives we can life a more happy life I am so thankful for the ability to get to serve as a missionary for the LDS church.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I couldn't imagine my life without being a member of this church. I am able to have these wonderful commandment to live by that can help me live a righteous and chaste life. I am always able to have someone to turn to when I have problems or issues to work through. I am able to get down on my knees and have a conversation with my Heavenly Father. I know that being sealed to my family i can be with them for time and all eternity. I can see my family that has passed away again. I am so grateful that I can be with my future spouse for eternity. I know that this church and gospel is true. I know that we have a prophet on this earth today. I am grateful that I can be with my family forever. I am thankful for the fact that I can pray to my heavenly father. I am grateful for all of the sacrifices that Jesus Christ has done for us so we can be on this earth today. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ amen.

How I live my faith

I am able to live my faith by being the Relief Society president in my ward. It is a lot of work and it can be stressful at times. The Relief Society is when all of the women come together for part of the time we are at church and have lessons given. They teach one another, and help serve the members of the church. I am so grateful for all of the experiences I get while being the president over the girls. I am able to help them get through all of the problems they have. I get to teach lessons some Sundays, and I can really feel the spirit in the room when it is invited. I am so thankful to be given the opportunity to serve all of the girls and be there for all of them.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Hermana Velasquez (Jeni)
We can increase of faith in Jesus Christ by creating a relationship with him through prayer. When we pray we are talking to our heavenly father and Jesus Christ. The more we pray to him, ask for help, and give thanks, then we can create a greater bond with him. I have seen this happen in my personal life, I know this is true and It can help you gain greater faith. Show more Show less
