Hi I'm Brianna

I am a student at BYU-I. I love all things musical or theatrical. I strive to make people feel happy. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

So I am currently a student attending BYU-Idaho. I absolutely love learning about everything, which is probably why I am still an undecided major. I am very fond of musical theater, and have performed in several plays and musicals, as well as high school and college choirs. I love to play the piano and sing, no promises that anything will sound right, but its a great hobby, right? Let's see... one of my favorite things to do with children is tell stories! I am the oldest of five in my family and so I have a lot of experience! I enjoy laughing constantly, I always talk during movies, I enjoy ice cream and cookies (but especially combined) and love to bake in the kitchen, (though I am still learning a lot!)

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church. Now believe me when I say, it is both a blessing and a challenge. It was wonderful for me to know of the doctrines and principles when I was growing up, it allowed me to develop a desire to be obedient and virtuous, and become a better person than I was. It kept me from making any horrible life decisions. At a certain point though, I became concerned that I had only been following these principles and ideas because I had been taught them by my parents since birth. I was curious what I really believed. Now I never had a big or grand lightning bolt of inspiration that told me specifically that the church was for me. It came through the small and little promptings, starting in the end of middle school and early High School. I started with finding out if God is real. I prayed that he would tell me if he was really there, if Christ and the Holy Ghost really existed. And I felt an undying and powerful confirmation in my heart and soul that he was there, he heard me, and loved me individually. and that is when it began. From there I prayed to know if the scriptures where true, if the prophets were really called of God, if Joseph Smith restored the real gospel to the earth. One by one I was confirmed that each were true. And one by one I began to understand the truthfulness of the restored gospel. I knew that it was real, and that I had been raised to know the truth. From that point on I knew without a doubt that I had a testimony. It's a process, that's for sure. There are times now that I even still struggle or have questions about different doctrines within our church. But I strive forward because I am confident that God has put me here for a reason. As long as I remember that he is there for me, and try to follow his promptings, striving to reignite my testimony every time a doubt comes my way, I know that he won't lead me astray.

How I live my faith

The biggest thing about my faith is that it is always a part of me. I strive to always be living my standards no matter who I am with or where I am. I am not perfect, of course, but the more I work towards following my Savior's example the happier and more at peace I am with myself, even after I mess up. I have served in various callings in the church, honestly whatever will teach me the most at the time! I have served as a pianist, have been in many positions of responsibility in youth groups, have also done indexing and currently serve as a counselor in my churches Women's organization up here at school!
