Hi I'm Terry

I am a father, have been an investment banker and a part-time university professor and I’m a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the western U.S. and have had a wonderful life. I have a kind and faith-filled wife who is mother of our four children, each of whom I individually treasure. My Dad was a farmer and my mother a junior high school teacher. They instilled in me values of hard work, education, and service. After college, I worked in the financial, capital markets and investment banking industry for 32 years. Recently I left my position at a respected Wall Street-based firm to spend time more time with my family, teach part-time at a local university, and consider other pursuits.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents raised me in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and took me to church each week and taught me to pray every day. They taught me that Heavenly Father loves me and that Jesus Christ atoned for our sins and mistakes. As I grew up and left home, I wanted to incorporate those teachings into my own path of life. I had felt the constant comfort and guidance that comes from the Christian teachings of the church in which I was raised. It gave me an anchor when other more worldly and material alternatives were tugging at me. The principles and doctrine in this church have guided my life and the lives of my family toward peaceful and satisfying lives - emotionally, spiritually, socially and physically.

How I live my faith

I believe that life is not so much about me, but about what I can do for others. Following the example of Jesus gives me direction. I know the teachings found within scripture such as the Book of Mormon, The Old Testament, the New Testament and other scripture contain truth and eternal secrets to peace and inner strength. I believe our lives are measured by the goodness we have within us, by the kindness we show, and the service we give to others. I enjoy helping others know about the things that have brought me lasting happiness.
