Hi I'm Abbey Boren

I love writing music. I want to be a Special Ed teacher. I love the outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a composer. I love to write music for just about any instrument, and enjoy playing the piano, guitar, and singing. I also love to ride just about anything I can get my hands on - rollerblades, horses, skateboards, bikes, airplanes, older brothers, etc. I am attending college to become a special education teacher. I love kids, and my family is more important to me than anything in the world.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because, in the quiet moments before bed, in the peaceful mornings while watching the sunrise, and in the laughs of my family and friends, I feel something. I feel a sweet, simple, beautiful stirring of hope inside. Hope for a better world, and faith that I am not alone. Somebody out there is looking out for me. I have seen it time and time again. Every time I ask for help, it appears. Every time I feel like I can't take another step, I feel something take my hand and gently lead me along. Every time I'm afraid or alone, I feel loving arms encircle me, telling me that things will get better. I am a Mormon because the Lord has shown me that this is the truth.

How I live my faith

Currently, I teach 11 year old girls in the church, and am constantly inspired and awed by their faith and testimonies. In the past, I have served as an organist, pianist, and youth leader. I am also preparing to serve as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where I will be sharing the gospel full-time for a year and a half.

Why do Mormons baptize their new members?

Abbey Boren
Our church is centered on Jesus Christ. He is our foundation, and because of that, we believe that we need to follow His example in all things. One of the main purposes of this life is to become as much like God as we possibly can. In order to do that, we must follow Christ's example. Baptism is an outward declaration of an inward commitment to God. It is a promise to live worthy of the Spirit, and it allows the Spirit to have a more permanent place in our lives and hearts. This Spirit guides us to choose the right, shows us which paths God wants us to take, comforts us in times of trouble, and testifies of truth. Show more Show less
