Hi I'm Scott Barrett

I'm from St. George Utah. I love my family. I'm currently a missionary in the Rancho Cucamonga California mission! I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I was born in North Carolina and lived there for around 8 years before my family and I made the move to Utah, where we have lived for the last 12 years. I love hiking, camping and playing basketball, as well as just being with family and friends. I graduated high school almost two years ago in 2013, finished my associates degree last May on May 20th 2014, one day before leaving on my mission to the Rancho Cucamonga mission in California. I love that I am able to share the wonderful message of the Restored Gospel to the good people here in California.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was born into this church and have been a member my life, my true conversion did not occur until I read the Book of Mormon and then asked God, in prayer, if the things which I had read were true. It was at this time that the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon was made known unto me as well as the truthfulness of this church. Because I acted and prayed about this I was able to receive an answer and know without a doubt that the this is true church of God restored in these latter days. I also have faith and know that anyone else who reads the Book of Mormon and prays with real intent about its truthfulness will also receive an answer!

How I live my faith

I have been active participant in this church my whole life! I was born into this faith and has I grew so did my knowledge of this church and also my testimony that it is true. I have participated in many service projects and other activities through the years through the Church's Young Men, Young Women program (which is essentially one night a week in which local church leaders plan service projects, activities, etc. for youth 12-18 years old) for my community and members of my local congregation. I have also participated in various other projects and activities like this through the Boy Scouts of America program which is strongly emphasized in this church, including my own Eagle Scout project. I have participated and have had an active role in several leadership positions in my church as well as the scouting program throughout the years, which has helped shaped me into the person I am today. I also made the decision to serve a two year mission for my church in California, during this time I will not be paid and will do my best to spread a special message of Jesus Christ and also the gospel principles in which members of this church believe in to all those who will listen. Missionaries are called from all over the world and will serve all over the world for either two years (for men) or one and a half years (for women). I have started my two year mission and look forward to all the people I will be able to meet and hopefully touch with this message of the gospel in which we believe.
