Hi I'm Gerard Habonimana

I grew up, in East Africa Tanzania, i'm 19 years old, i like sports, and i'm currently serving a mission. and yes i'm Mormon.

About Me

well i'm convert I Like to play soccer, i loved soccer since i was a little kid. when i was back home in my home country i used to play soccer almost everyday, without no shoes, but it was so fun, and difficult. I came here in the United State in 2008, i flied straight to Salt lake city. I came with my 3 brothers and my 3 sister's and mom and dad. Few moths latter after we got here in the U.S.A. I started attending middle school, the school name was called Glendale middle school. After middle school i attend east high school. I played in the east high school soccer team, doing my freshman year. I went to east high school all of my four year's. I never changed High school's. so that's great. after high school i found a job, i was working while attending Salt Lake Community Collage. My family and I joined the church September 2009, It was the greatest decision ever, it changed my family life allot.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the gospel is truth, The gospel has changed my life, The gospel has affected me positively. i joined the church 2009, before i joined the church, i had bad friend, what ever they did i would do it, i was like a follower, before i met with the missionary i was catholic, i use to think if you did good in life, god would bless you for it, but there's is more than that. At first when i met missionaries i wasn't interested on learning the gospel. Because i use to think do good, and god will Recognized you for your work, the missionary would call me on my cell phone, everyday, and i would hang up. One time i decided to answer the phone when the missionaries called me. One of the missionaries told me a story, and i was touched by his love, for me, he didn't even know me, he only met me one time. That's when i started taking lessons from the missionaries, Knowing the gospel has lead me to the Direction i want to be in life. Also Knowing the gospel inspired me to serve a mission, i know that the gospel blesses many people's life, because it has changed my life, and blessed me allot. The gospel is the key to salvation, without the gospel we wouldn't know our purpose in life, the plan of happiness has changed my life, and has lead me to an understand my purpose here in this earthly life. the gospel doesn't end so let us keep living it until the second coming of Jesus Christ. so excited.!!!!!!

How I live my faith

How i live my faith, I try to be the best i can be. I attend the Swahili ward in Utah. I live my faith by inviting anther to come unto Christ because he is the light that we need to follow in order to return to live with our heavenly father again. I live my faith by helping my bishop, bringing kids to play basketball on Tuesday evening in our branch. Also i help the mission branch leader organize meetings, by attending those meeting and helping him teach it. I help the full time missionary who are serving in our branch, by going out with them to teach an investigator, i would be the translate, are sometimes i would teach with them. seeing anther missionary encouraged me to go on a mission, i took classes myself with the services missionaries, because i wanted to server our savior Jesus Christ, by going on a mission. I submitted my mission papers on January 2014, and i received my mission call two weeks after. I was called to serve in Birmingham Alabama mission, Spanish speaking. Opening my mission call was the greatest thing ever, i felt so much joy, i can't even describe the joy i felt when i opened my mission call. i'm glad that i'm a Mormon.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Gerard Habonimana
A testimony is a spiritual witness given to a human being by the holy gohst. the founddation of a mormon's testimony is the knowdlege knowing that our heavenly father loves you, and he lives. testimony is an apporturnity you are given to share your thoughts and your feelings abut our heavenly father. How he loves his fellow children here on this eathly life, also it is abut how the church is true, also how Christ restored his church here today through joseph smith. A testimony it is a spiritual gift from the holy gohst, to share what is true. Show more Show less
