Hi I'm Cindy McCoy

I was raised in Southern California, the 2nd oldest of 11 children. I have been LDS my whole life.

About Me

I am married with 5 children, 3 girls and 2 boys. I have worked with kids my whole life, from pre-school age to middle school. One of my interests is, reading all kinds of books my favorite being Harry Potter. I also like to sew. I use to make alot of my girls clothes when they were young. I love to keep my hands busy crocheting. I have made many baby blankets and afgans. I love dogs and cats and most animals.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been lucky to have been a member my whole life, but I remember when I first recieved my own testimony. For about 16 years, I really just relyed on the my parents testimony and that seemed fine for me until I went away to college. There I was on my own and could do whatever I wanted whenever I wanted. It was then that I learned that I really did love this gospel and its teachings. No big converion story, no big miracles, just the peace that I would get in doing what I new I was to do. In raising my family, I have followed in the way I was raised by my parents and tried to teach my kids the gospel. I hope that they have seen my love for my Heavenly Father and Son Jesus Christ through the service I have given. I do have a testimony of this gospel and I know that it is the full truth on this earth. I know that Joseph Smith restored it in these latter days. I know that the prophet, Pres. Monson, recieves revolation from Heavenly Father to help us in these last days. I have read and know that the Book of Morman is true and is another testiment of Jesus. I have a testimony in eternal family and am comforted in the fact that I can be with my family forever. I love my husband and children and want to be with them always.

How I live my faith

I try to live my life in the service of others. When I was in YW, the theme was Mosiah 2:15, "When ye are in the service of your fellow beings, ye are only in the service of your God." That had a profound impact on my live and I have followed that counsel ever since. My very first calling in the church was the libaraian. Here I was just 18 and working with all the members of the ward. I love new calls in the wards I have live in and try to do my best in each of them. I have worked with the youth in the church my whole church career. I loved my Sunbeam classes the 10 or so years I taught Sunbeams. I also loved working in the YW program. There I tried to show by example how to show love to my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ through the service we render. One combined activity that we planned was "Going the Distance" where we walked 13 1/2 miles to the Mesa Temple. It was difficult but very rewarding and one I will never forget. In my home, I raised my kids to know that I loved the Lord and want to do whatever He wanted of me.
