Hi I'm Royce

I'm a born and raised California kid. Playing, mixing, and listening to music is my passion and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a college kid with a crazy life and schedule! I love to sing in choirs, play my favorite instruments, practice recording and mixing new songs on my computer, be outdoors and active, exercise, and eat! You could easily define me by my favorite songs that I like to listen to (Jack Johnson, Coldplay, Bastille, Televisor, Gregory Alan Isakov, any form of A Capella singing, Lindsey Stirling, El Ten Eleven, and ODESZA to name a few). I really enjoy searching for new music and new artists to listen to. I probably spend WAY too much money on music! You've probably heard me talk about music a lot, but it really is a huge part of my life. It's therapy, it's an escape, it's a hobby, it's everything!

Why I am a Mormon

I've grown up a member of the Church, but I've had a chance to visit many other churches in my lifetime. Each one that I went to, I felt like I was missing something, compared to what I felt in the Mormon church. I believe that the Mormon church, as it is today, is the complete and restored church that Christ intended it to be on the earth today. One of the most important differences in the Mormon church is the restoration of priesthood power. When I was born, I was born with the umbilical cord wrapped around my neck. The doctors gave me an Apgar score of about 2. I wasn't what you would call a healthy newborn. I had to be hooked up to a breathing machine and constantly monitored, since I wasn't able to function on my own. My father and bishop decided to give me a priesthood blessing in an effort to save my life and bless my with health. By the time I was transferred to the other hospital, since the one I was at did not have the proper equipment to take care of me, I no longer had a bubble in my lungs, I was pink instead of gray, I was able to move on my own, and I was crying! I firmly believe that it was the blessing given by two worthy priesthood holders that saved my life. I still do not know why I was saved or preserved, but it must have been for some reason or another. Until I figure it out, I'll just keep doing what I know how to do best: keep on singing!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by constantly expressing love for others and serving them to the best of my ability. Just as the Savior served and loved unconditionally, I strive to be friendly and make sure that everyone feels welcome, included and important. It's very easy sometimes to slip in this endeavor. The trick is to constantly turn outward. The further inward you are, the more focused you are on yourself. When you're focused on yourself, it is easy to not take others feelings and thoughts into account. Turn outward! Focus on others for a change!
