Hi I'm Kess

I lived in Korea for three years. I'm currently a missionary in the Taiwan Taipei mission. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I grew up in Utah most of my life. I love the outdoors, always have and always will. Utah definitely plays a huge role in me loving the outdoors because of the beautiful mountains. I love to play the piano. There are days that I wish I could just go play the piano all day! I am currently a missionary in the Taiwan Taipei mission. What an amazing blessing that I have in my life right now! I get a front row seat to seeing people change their lives around so they can come to know their savior and Lord Jesus Christ. My purpose as a missionary is to help others come unto Christ through faith in Him and his atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the holy ghost and enduring to the end! I know that through doing these few steps we can all come to know our Savior, we can be with our families for forever and we can have an unfathomable amount of happiness.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it is through the Book of Mormon and obviously the help of our Heavenly Father that I have made it through some of the hardest trails in my life. It is through these trials and hard times in my life that I have come to know that Heavenly Father loves me. It is through these trials that I have gained a testimony of Jesus Christ and his atonement. I know that if it weren't for him there would have been no way possible for me to over come these trials in my life. Gymnastics was my life until I had a serious back injury. It was two weeks before my competition season started and I felt a sharp pain in my back. My coach kept telling me that it was just a pulled muscle and to take it easy before my competition. Eventually the pain in my back became so unbearable that I could hardly walk. My mother decided to take me to the doctors to get x-rays. It turned out that I had a condition called Spondylolisthesis. The bottom of my spine had pretty much fractured away from the base of my back. In other words the top half of my body was floating on the bottom half. I had to get four screws and two rods put into my back. I had to give up my dreams with gymnastics. At this moment the only thing that kept me going was Christs love for me. It is through this trial that I really came to know Christ on a best friend basis. Who knew my biggest trial would become my biggest blessing?! I love Christ and the fact that he died for each and every one of us so we can live with him again. It amazes me that He loves us so much that even if you were the only one on Earth, He still would have gone through with the atonement just for you!

How I live my faith

Other then living my faith everyday by being the Lords servant and sharing His gospel, I try to live my faith by doing the little things like praying, attending church, and reading my scriptures daily. In the long run it will be the little things that count. It is through prayer, church and scripture study that I receive comfort, and peace through out my everyday life. I hope that people, but mainly my siblings will be affected by my example in doing my best to follow the Savior.
