Hi I'm Katherine

I love to tell jokes, I love my folks, and hey I'm a Mormon!

About Me

School is fantastic, I am so lucky to have spent two years at a University studying health and nutrition. I am a defender on the Women's Lacrosse team, I LOVED being a track coach for the Special Olympics team, and serving as the family home evening co-chair in my singles' ward (that means arranging fun, social, and spiritually kosher activities for 18-30 year olds). BUT... I am taking a leave of absence to serve a mission for the gospel I love: the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Obviously I have a lot of love!

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? It might seem like an odd question to ask someone who was blessed to be born into the gospel. I chose to be a Mormon because I knew it was true; as an 8 year old kid I felt the light, warmth, and love of Jesus Christ. My parents created a heaven on Earth in our home and I knew I wanted that feeling to be with me forever. While my life hasn't always been easy or heavenly I am grateful to be a member of a great community and have the knowledge and wisdom of the LDS church to guide me.

How I live my faith

Currently I serve as a Visiting Teacher, I have a partner and we are assigned to three lovely ladies in our ward and neighborhood to visit at least once a month. During our visits we share a spiritual message, help our sisters out, and get a good chat in. Having these close connections with women that have families, careers, and experiences that I haven't had has been such a blessing to me. I love this network of sisters!

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

Katherine
We voluntarily give a donation of our income to the Church to build temples and church buildings, fund missions and humanitarian services; among many other things. I pay tithing because I trust that the Lord will use my sacrifice to bless others! In return I have been blessed waaaaay more than I have given. Show more Show less
