Hi I'm Jordan Kahn

I grew up in Saratoga Springs, Utah. I'm a sports junky. And i love being Mormon!

About Me

I'm the biggest sports guy you know. I'm the guy that could name you every player on a teams roster and how many points per game they average, how tall they are and where they went to college at. I played a little basketball in high school and also golf. Those are my two favorite sports. I also like football. Bowling is a sport no one talks about but it may be one of the funnest to play as well. I love politics, they just fascinate me. I'm a competitive person so maybe that's why i love sports and politics. I love talking and communicating with others. Being social is something that is just fun. I'm pretty good at math, but that doesn't mean i'm a huge fan. History is pretty interesting. I enjoy learning about how things came to be and why they came to be. I'm a missionary right now in the Richmond, Virginia Mission. I plan to go to college afterwards and start a family. I want to study business management and possibly go to law school as well. My dream career is to be a sports agent. Yes, i shoot for the stars.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Even though i was born Mormon, we all have to be converted to the gospel of Jesus Christ. We all have a personal conversion story. Luckily i have amazing parents who taught me the same principles that Jesus Christ taught when he was alive and that have been taught by modern day prophets. They helped me understand those teachings so that when i was faced with tough decisions, i could make the right choice. A lot of the time, i didn't make the right decision, but that's the blessing of the Atonement of Jesus Christ and the Plan of Salvation. Through the Atonement, we can repent of the mistakes we make and be forgiven so we can be clean and live with our Father in Heaven again. Through the Plan of Salvation, we learn and grow from the mistakes that we make daily and learn to make the right decisions. What a blessing that is! If there was one moment so far in my life that helped give my spiritual conversion a shove in the right decision, it was a moment early in my mission. Every day as a missionary, i have to privilege to go share the message of the Restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ and about the Book of Mormon. I very quickly realized, that my personal testimony wasn't as strong as it should've been. I needed answers and i needed them fast. I was really struggling inside. I spent a lot of time on my knees pleading with the Lord to give me an answer. One morning, my companion and i were watching a video of a talk by a member of the quorum of the twelve apostles and he was giving his testimony of the Book of Mormon. Instantly, from head to toe i started shaking. It was a warm shake, a calm shake. It brought me to tears. I was filled with the spirit. Right at that moment, i knew the Book of Mormon was true and that the full gospel of Jesus Christ is contained within its pages. Because of that one experience, i can never deny the truthfulness of this church and the Book of Mormon.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith everyday. Back home in Utah, i served in many callings in my church. Basically a calling is a chance to serve those around you, therefore you're serving God. You don't get paid for serving in such a calling in church. I do it because i love the Lord. I get the privilege to serve my fellow peers and help their testimonies grow in the Savior, and i see mine grow as well because i'm doing as the Lord would do. Being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints isn't just being a part of a church, it's truly a lifestyle. When we're baptized, we take upon ourselves the name of Jesus Christ. That means we always strive to do the things he would do. Talk as He would talk, act as He would act, live as He would live and love as He would love. As we align our lifestyle in accordance with the lifestyle our Heavenly Father would have us live, we can help those around us do the same by setting an example. I'm currently a missionary in Richmond, Virginia and i get to go out every single day for two years and talk to people about our Savior and help them gain a stronger faith and testimony in Him. I love it and i love the gospel!
